Cardinals tab Tommie Robinson to coach RBs

The Cardinals have hired Tommie Robinson out of the college ranks to coach their running backs.

Robinson, 47, spent the last three seasons at the University of Miami (FL). He couldn’t get much out of Edgerrin James’ cousin Javarris, but did help turn Graig Cooper into one of the ACC’s better backs before Cooper’s devastating non-contact knee injury in December’s Champs Sports Bowl.

In Arizona, Robinson will work closely with Chris Wells, Tim Hightower, and LaRod Stephens-Howling.

Wells is likely to take on a much bigger role in his second season with Matt Leinart under center for Arizona. It’s even possible that Beanie will emerge as the Cardinals’ featured offensive player.
