Browns to dump Stallworth by March 20

So now that we’re in the press box with roughly three hours to go until kickoff, we’ve got no excuse for not working.

Here’s one from Friday that we previously missed.

Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Browns will cut receiver Donte’ Stallworth by March 20, the day on which he’s due to pocket a $1 million roster bonus.

Stallworth will be reinstated by the NFL upon conclusion of the Super Bowl.

Theoretically, the Browns could trade Stallworth, but it’s highly unlikely that anyone would pick up a contract that includes not only the $1 million roster bonus but also a base salary of $1.5 million in 2010, $2.775 million in 2011, $4.55 million in 2012, $5.65 million in 2013, and $5.95 million in 2014.

So he’ll instead become an unrestricted free agent, and then it’ll remain to be seen whether someone gives him a chance.

Who has better odds starting next year, Vick or Stallworth? Lets go Vegas get on it already. I’ll take 5 on Stallworth, society cares more about dogs than humans.

Take a guess what team he goes to………..

I remember when he was the Eagles’ #1 WR. He was sadly the best receiver they had. Now, he might be able to beat out Reggie Brown as a special teamer/ 5th receiver if he’s lucky

Mike, if there are any good freebies, grab me one. Thanks!

Pretty sure Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis are already licking their chops at the prospect of adding another character guy.

Talk about a guy getting a bad rap, he beeped his horn, and the other guy was not in the crosswalk.

Good. Vehicular murderers shouldn’t get a mere 26 days in jail and walk away scott-free and continue to make megabucks the rest of their professional lives.

I don’t care if he beeped his horn, the dude killed somebody. He took a life, does that mean anything to people these days? Maybe if he hadn’t had something to drink he wouldn’t have to live with killing someone for the rest of his life. Or here is an idea…how about stopping? Just because you’re going 50 mph and flash your lights, doesn’t mean you can run over someone. There’s people doing 10 years for drugs and this guy gets off easy after killing a man.

Care more about dogs than humans like you, is all.
    Don’t take it personal.

Maybe they should run over him..

Gives him a chance? Chance about what? You guys act like he is Jeff Odonnor or something, the dude was in a damn car accident that happened to result in someone dying, that can happen to ANYONE. Please with this petty, “He’s a murderer” BS.
He becomes a FA, he’s going to sign and become a nice deep threat for some team. Stop being so petty, like the Tebow commercial. I wish the Tebow commercial kept it real and mentioned abortion, because these liberals need to be jailed for their insaneness.

Stallworth is an ass. Plaxico is doing two years for carrying a concealed weapon and Stallworth serves 30 days for plowing into a pedestrian. Yeah, different states, I get it. Still leaves a bad taste in everybody’s mouths.

    Patriots need to sign him.

“society cares more about dogs than humans”
Pretty stupid comment there is no comparison between accidentally killing a human and systematically torturing, abusing and killing dogs for years.
The former could be any of us posting just as easily as it was Stallworth. The latter takes a sick twisted mind to engage in that needs serious help.
Stallworth did also bankroll and operate a gambling ring for years, which alone should have gotten Vick banned for life, the rest put aside.
And if you had bothered to educate yourself you would also know there is a direct relationship between animal abuse and violent criminals that take out their anger on humans.
