Bill Parcells is happy to give Sean Payton all the advice he wants, but he declined a chance to speak with Payton’s team.
Payton invited Parcells to give a pregame peptalk to the Saints -- probably at their team hotel -- but the Big Tuna declined, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Parcells reportedly did it out of deference to the Manning family.
Instead of Parcells, the Saints were treated to the nasal twang of former Dallas Mavericks coach and New Orleans native Avery Johnson. That’s like downgrading from Drew Brees to Mark Brunell.
