people keep saying 25th ranked defense. that is only by how many yards compared to other teams, the Saints have other things on defense that does not show on that stat. number 1 forcing turnover. red zone defense. who dat

Saints offense makes defense better. They played with leads through much of the season, and forcing teams to be one dimensional typically makes them easier to defend. That has worked pretty well for them this year. Problem today is the Colts are one dimensional by choice, and pretty damn good just throwing the ball.

Liston, we here in New Orleans all LOVE Peyton, he’s our homegrown son. BUT, he has his SB ring, and we want one now for our adopted son, Drew Brees!

The Saints offense is what carries the team. The defense is just along for the ride.
The same way the Raven defense carried the team to Super Bowl XXXV. The Raven offense was just along for the ride.

Relying on turnovers is not the way to win games.
Correct but forcing turnovers gets you to the SB.

Well strange citizen a quick look at dictionary.com gives you the below…
a. the practice or art of defending oneself or one’s goal against attack, as in fencing, boxing, soccer, or football.
b. the team attempting to thwart the attack of the team having the ball or puck.
c. the players of a team who line up in their own defensive zone.
d. the positions on the field, ice, etc., taken by such players.
That being said the defense succeeds by doing one of two things – forcing 3 outs (Minn Def) or forcing turnovers (like the Saints). You see in the end they accomplish the same. So with that said I assume you prefer a Def up less yardage but more points (
