Aint Legitimate…..
The aints are the worst team to ever win the Superbowl. Only got into the game because the officials put them there with bad calls in overtime of the NFC Championship. 9 out of 10 times the Vikings crush the aints.
Payton Manning and company whoops “WhoDat” any other day of the week. Good thing Freeny was hurt no doubt.
I’ll always look at the Saints as the losers who the NFL decided needed a win for their crappy city and only got there because the “Katrina” angle would make a nice story.
Bet they go 8-8 or worse next year.

Colts and Saints – both classy organizations.
Can’t say the same about all the comments here.
Great game.
Brees and the Saints didn’t turn it over. Their decision to go for it on 4th and Goal didn’t cost them.
The on-side kick gamble worked.
Their kicker was lights out from 45 yards plus.
They baited Manning into an INT.
They executed their game plan to perfection. Well coached and well executed.
Proof that you can’t give a guy like Manning the title. He has to earn it…

All three of your predictions proved to be wrong. Why are you such a Saint hater? What I find to be most telling is that none of your articles in which you predicted the Saints loss can be found on this website. I know, we all hate to be wrong.

Personally, I wanted the Vikings to compete in the Super Bowl and win. Whether popular or not, I wanted to see Favre get another ring. But they didn’t, and he didn’t. The Saints played some amazing games to sweep through the NFC before embarrassing the heavily-favored Colts with some tough play and some ballsy coaching moves. I am happy for the Saints’ fans, and that team deserves credit for an amazing year. I’m pleased that the question of whether or not Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback of all-time can be put to rest for another year. The only upside I see to Peyton returning to the Super Bowl next year is that it will give me another opportunity to watch him choke (and, if the huge screen at Cowboys Stadium goes out during next year’s game, it’s possible that they could project the video onto Manning’s forehead and get the same effect). And before others jump in to talk about what an amazing player he is, let me admit that Manning is one of the best to ever play…but rooting for him is kind of like rooting for the house at the casino. Most fans would give up their first born to have him as the face of their franchise. But…he’s a contact-shy robot who can call his own number at any given time, and people seem surprised that he puts up big numbers despite a statistically “poor” running game. It’s poor because the dude can call his own number. (Look at the film and rushing stats from the Super Bowl. The Colts should have done it more.)
Anyway, that was an unplanned rant. Congrats to the Saints and their fans.

Ah, such a feel good story. From the Kim Kardashian interview from Eisen to the endless talk about how much the city of New Orleans deserves this. It was pretty cute how all the guys on CBS’s post game had beads on. How much do you think they contributed to Katrina efforts? or the players, coaches and OWNER for that matter? Hopefully this will be the last year that bullshit will be shoved down our throats.
BTW, that is a knock against the bureaucrats in the media and NFL for trying to make themselves out as people who give a shit about the average person, not the team that thoroughly kicked the crap out of the Colts.

Yet the ONE time the game ACTUALLY occurred, you lost.
If the Vikings were so good they could beat the Saints 10 out of 10, how did they LOSE to them? Hell, if they were that good how did they lose 4 games during the season? For as good as the Saints feel right now, Viking fans have to feel that much worse. They beat the hell out of the Saints in all the stats except the score board and the Viking fans probably feel as if they could have dismantled the Colts after watching the game.
Too bad, talking about winning a Superbowl all year isn’t the same as actually winning one but I suppose the Viking fans will never come to understand just what they means.
