Sapp apologizes for distraction

Regardless of whether former NFL defensive tackle Warren Sapp is guilty or innocent of charges that he battered a female acquaintance on Friday night, Sapp has apologized, through his lawyer, for the distraction that the incident created.

He sincerely apologizes to the NFL family and fans for taking away any
distraction from today’s big game,” Christopher Lyons said, per the Associated Press.  “We ask
that everyone reserve judgment on the matter until all the facts come
out in a court of law.”

There is at least one report that the allegations against Sapp, who played for the Buccaneers and Raiders and currently works for NFL Network, are false.

Sapp was released on $1,500 bond earlier today.

Because of Sapp’s behavior, I will not be watching the Super Bowl or buying chips or ordering pizza. No, I wont be buying sodas or Nathan’s hot dogs.
    This distraction has ruined everything.
I will be selling all my football gear, and I will be supporting ping pong.
By protest— it’s going to be a Punky Brewster’s marathon day.

Sapp should be thankful that he was arrested on Super Bowl weekend. Most people wouldn’t be distracted from the game by getting arrested themselves.

His ego is as fat as his ass. Does he really think people give a rat’s ass about him? Yes, the entire gameday Super Bowl experience is ruined now, parties will be cancelled, ratings will plummett, and the economy will spiral further down. What a distraction…

This idiot is a coward and a tool. He’ll be selling his SB ring on EBAY in 5 years to buy whatever it is he is on. What a chicken sh**.

Who cares? The only game worth watching would have been Minnesota vs. Indianapolis.

Just the act of Sapp getting on top of a woman for sex would be considered domestic battery in most states.

His lawyer wrote that? Seriously? It is exactly backwards.
It is bad to ADD distractions to a game but good to TAKE AWAY distractions from a game.
Was Christopher Lyons a football player wherever he got his college “education?”

Sapp’s lawyer is about as smart as Sapp.
    Not very smart.

Trust me Sapp, ya fat ass, no one will be thinking about you when the game starts.
However, since neither of the teams said ANYTHING all week, I was happy for the distraction, gave me something to read.

If this means he is fired, I will take the minor distraction any day of the week.

Seriously, please don’t bring Sapp back. As far as prejudgment is concerned, don’t play nice, Florio. Your entire site operates on the basis of conjecture.
