PFT has arrived at our press box seats for Super Bowl XLIV.
And some potentially big news for Pete Carroll was waiting for us when we got here. This message appears on Walter Jones’ Twitter official account:
“I have came to the concussion it is time for me to retire from football,” Jones wrote. (And if that’s not proof of the dangers of concussions, what is?”)
We’re not sure whether to take what the nine-time Pro Bowler writes at face value. Jones is known for his sense of humor and may just be having some fun.
As ESPN’s Mike Sando points out, Jones has previously said he wouldn’t announce his retirement over Twitter, but it sounds like he just did.
Unless, of course, he’s messing us.
UPDATE: Sando thinks Jones is pulling our collective chain.
I have come to the concussion that Walter Jones is not smarter than a 5th grader
Pete carrol head=yeah ill retire
Favre, give Walter his phone back..
Walter, if you can come back 100% stay with the Seahawks and DON’T retire!
“I have came to the concussion it is time for me to retire from football,” Jones wrote…………………………………….hilarious.
