a) Rookie’s often sit for a year to “adjust to the system” when their isn’t room for another wide receiver on the roster. Same thing with most skill positions, given proper depth.
b) The Bears offense will improve in 2010.
c) Forte’s all purpose yards should also increase in 2010. In offenses like Martz’ receiving out of the backfield is a substitute for a handoff. Only fantasy owners could give a shit about the difference. Also, when you can’t rely on run blocking up the middle it makes a lot more sense.
d) The Bears record next year has a lot more to do with how the defense performs than people are thinking. The offense, namely Cutler’s picks, cost us some games this year but not nearly as many as other teams lighting up the scoreboard.

Because Lovie wants it that way.
Johnny Knox got some playing time last years only because it was absolutely necessary.

Ha! Short of firing every player on that team sans Knox, Hester, and Briggs, there is no turning it around. I don’t care if you inked Jesus Christ to a multiyear contract as head coach, with Martz’s “offensive genius” calling the plays, this team just doesn’t have the talent. And they don’t have any draft picks. And they don’t have an owner willing to spend money on free agency. And, you add it all up, 2010=S.U.C.K. for Chi-town.
