Jags not making roster moves Monday

Late last week, the Florida Times Union reported that wide receiver Torry Holt and offensive tackle William Thomas were informed by the Jaguars of their impending release.

Michael C. Wright, the Times Union‘s Jaguars beat writer, says the moves will not happen today.

The transactions likely remain in the offing. The Jaguars reportedly want to release Holt and Thomas soon because the veterans plan to continue their careers, despite declining production.

It’s been suggested that Holt could resurface with the Bears, for whom his former head coach with the Rams, Mike Martz, is now offensive coordinator.

Chicago, though, would probably be better off with the wideouts on its current roster. Knee injuries have sapped most of Holt’s big-play ability, and he didn’t score a single touchdown in 15 starts with Jacksonville last year.
