Some believed that the departure of Andy Dolich from the San Francisco 49ers meant the abandonment of efforts to build a new stadium for the team in Santa Clara.
Though that might still be the case, the folks in Santa Clara have yet to give up.
According to Howard Mintz of the San Jose Mercury News, the Santa Clara City Council could finalize today a ballot measure regarding the proposed venue, which would cost $937 million.
The public vote would occur on June 8.
But there’s some concern regarding the language of the ballot proposal, which includes a “multilayered question” that could confuse voters.
We’ve been hearing that the Santa Clara plan ultimately won’t work with only the 49ers playing there, and that the Raiders will need to be involved as well in order to make it work. If, however, the two teams are going to share a stadium, Oakland could be the better alternative.
If, of course, 49ers fans ever would be able to suppress their gag reflex regarding the prospects of their favorite team playing its games in Oakland.
Our family has had Niners season tickets for 30 years (since I was 7) and I’ll say this: we’d give our tickets up before we drove to that rat-hole across the bay and shared a stadium with those losers and degenerates. Figure it out on your own, Raiders. If you come to share a stadium with us in Santa Clara (or potentially San Francisco), please leave your diseases at home on game day.
“If, of course, 49ers fans ever would be able to suppress their gag reflex”
Come on, is anyone gonna knock this one out of the park?
But seriously, the people of Santa Clara county are stingy as hell, they’re not gonna approve this.
Can you imagine Niner fans walking into Oaktown, with their preppy clothes on and their manicured nails?
As a life long 49er fan it’s hard to swallow the idea of heading to O-town to watch the 49ers play. I would rather take the longer drive down to Santa Clara which is a city that represents the fans of the 49ers far better then Oakland ever can.
Getting past the gag reflex is a prerequisite for whiner fans before ever donning their red and gold tutus. Duh.
I hope they get the Santa Clara deal without the Raiders. ‘Frithco fans can just hop, skip, and jump their way right over to SC. The farther away from the East Bay, the better.
Change sucks.
Santa Clarans are voting no on this issue.
L.A. is waiting for you 49ers!!!

Uh, sounds like one team is content with where they are and the other one needs to do the figuring out.
49er fans have to come to realize your team is headed to L.A.
Roski’s deal is an offer they can’t refuse.
There wont be a Stadium in Santa Clara.
And Arrogant Al would never share a Stadium with your franchise.
Have you seen the plans for the new bay bridge? There’s a big bucket at the east end. For Whiner fans to puke into on their way to Oakland. Check it out on Google!
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=37.821175,-122.310834&spn=0.023866,0.052958&t=h&z=15
Caltrans has been so overwhelmed by the volume of up-chuck on I-80 near the West Grand Ave exit that they had to delay construction of the bridge for 5 years to further study the environmental impact of vomit spilling into the Bay.
Heck, East Bay MUD had to build a sewage treatment plant next to the maze to deal with the volume of chum expelled by the tender citizens of Babylon by the Bay when they wonder into the urban wilds of the East Bay.
Seriously, I am amused by the east coast cluelessness that Florio expresses on his little blog. Boyfriend, stop by Oakland some time and see if you can really hold your lunch down. I really don’t think it will be as hard as you imagine.
The Greatness Of The Raiders Is In Their Future
Commitment to Excellence
Pride and Poise
Just Win Baby

Go Niners!
ROFL poor 49er fans. Their team is too cheap/incompetant/clueless to build a stadium on their own so they need to beg the Raiders for help. Only 49er fans are too scared of their own shadow to want to drive to Oakland. Too funny.,
Just move that waste of a franchise to LA where it belongs.
LA 40-whiners!

Are you Kidding me?? You have season tickets to the 49ers and you actually made that comment? Look D!PSH!T, your current Stadium is in a neighborhood that is 10x’s worse than where the Coliseum is. You have to sit in a 2 hour traffic jam in Hunters Point just to get out. And have you actually looked around at your crowd lately?? You have just as many Thugs and Punks at your spot as any other NFL team. Possibly more, seeings how most Northern California Gangs out this way sport the color RED. I went to the last 49ers/Raiders game there, and it was pretty damn even with Thugs and Punks. Not to mention you get the Snobby Upperclass A*Holes like yourself that think your S%^# don’t stink.
Grow the hell up and show a little class for christ sakes. If you knew a thing about football you would know they wouldnt be playing in the same stadium the same day. Wich means……ding, ding, ding!! We wouldn’t have to see each other!! It’s a win win situation for both teams.
“If, of course, 49ers fans ever would be able to suppress their gag reflex regarding the prospects of their favorite team playing its games in Oakland.”
I wouldn’t worry about that, these douchebags got their deepthroat technique down to a science.

And they will! To Los Angeles!!!!!
Truth is not jealousy! Quoted by Redstorms.
smoakland would be the better option.
I have Niners season tickets and I actually like Candlestick. Why move? So the stadium is a little dumpy, so what. It is close to the City and it works. Refurbish Candlestick and keep the games played where they are. I would hate to go down to Santa Clara for football games. I can only imaging the traffic jams on 101 and 280……. The drive back would take two plus hours. For what, to play in a “new” facility that will be used for ten games a year and will be outdated in 15 years anyway? Why, to bid on a Super Bowl? What does that do for me. California is broke at all levels, how can anybody back building a new stadium with any public funds involved?
Build the stadium over the soccer fields at the old polo ground in the park….have people leave their cars at home..
Current State of the Raiders:
NO Fans at the games
NO QB
NO GM
NO Radio station talking about them
NO Radio home (Switch stations every year)
NO TV (Blackout most games)
NO Super Bowl wins in Oakland in 30 years
Regarding the Raiders . . . Nobody Cares!
If I was a Raiders fan . . . I would be posting on Niner pages too.
Go Niners!
Uh, aren’t they afraid of the vampires, there?
Hey City…..you think 20 posts are a lot on this site? Try looking at ANY Raiders post on this site. STFU and be happy someone is actually talking about your team.
You may have all of those things above, with the acception of a QB and really…..Super Bowl Wins? Cmon Man….its been almost 20 years for you……and we’ve at least had a couple cracks at the thing since then. But for you to be crackin on the Raiders like your team is great is ridiculous to me. You guys are in a Bigger Market, have Competent Ownership/Team Structure, yet your team sucks just as bad. So you got more people that go to the games to watch your team lose……that doesnt make you better than us.
I would rather the Niners go to LA than share a stadium with anyone. I don’t hate the Raider franchise like so many do, they’ve had a lot of success in this league, and they have a bunch of talented players on the team right now.
Anyways, a new stadium must be built, and if the Santa Clara vote doesn’t pass, then I’m all for heading to LA. A new stadium is a new stadium, and who are we kidding, the Niners will make a glorious return to the new stadium at Candlestick Point in 30 years.
Your name is “the Truthwill SetuFree” but your post needs some truth.
Almost 20 years for us? Actually 15.
You have had a couple cracks since then? Actually 1.
Bigger Market? We are in the same market.
Team sucks just as bad? The Raiders have just finished the worst seven year stretch in NFL history.
Just some facts for you.
Well 15 is close to 20…….
Couple Cracks……One SuperBowl and 2 AFC Championships
Technically you can’t say were in the same Market seeings how all of the Radio Stations and TV stations are broadcast out of SF.
And yes just as bad!! In the last 7 years you guys have a record of 40-72, we have a record of 28-84. Anyway you slice it both teams are horrible. But you have 12 more wins than us in 7 years, in a far worse conference than ours…….so whats that tell you??
It’s telling me that if my team sucked that bad I wouldnt be making any comments about another team sucking, that’s all i’m saying.
Washington Redfags- you have no idea about what you’re talking about. Jed York said it plain and clear NINERS WILL NOT MOVE TO LA. It’s funny how all the comments here ( from non niner fans) are from ppl who root for teams that have top ten draft picks this year.
Joe in Toronto- niners fans don’t have manicured nails, they just look manicured standing next to raiders fans because of all that nail biting u do from waiting to hear Al Davis’s next dumbass move. What did he do last year?.. Oh yeah draft butterfingers over crabtree that’s right, thanks again for that retards
Truthshallsetyoufree- keep dreamin, niners have way more talent than the raiders, atleast the niners are in talks to win the division next year, while you raider fans have to sit there and watch your team compete for a double digit draft spot 7 YEARS IN A rOW! And still can’t find a way to get past the 8th pick hahhaha!! If I were a raider fan instead of typing on a niner post a bunch of false facts I’d choose one of the bridges in the bay area and jump off it.. Here I’ll say it for you FML

Yet with all that talent, they still haven’t made the playoffs since 2003.
@Laffing Stock
30 years? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Now tell me about the “Kezar Days”…
ps: I find it interesting you liken the Colisium to a ‘rat hole’ are you sure you’ve been to the ‘stick?
Your a freakin moron Hater, your team has been in talks to win the division the last 5 years yet your in the same boat as us every year(watching the playoffs at home)
And you wanna talk about our Draft Picks? 49ers draft picks:
2009:#10
2008#7 (traded to Indy)
2007#11
2006#6
2005#1
2004#16
Keep letting your hate feed your delusional mind. The 49ers are as weak as the Raiders, just in an easier division. Thats the only reason why your in talks to win the west every year. San Diego and Denver are AFC favorites to win it all the last 5 years.
And BTW if you actually read the article you would see that this is a Raiders and 49ers post you dumbass. “The 49ers NEED the Raiders to make this deal work!!”
Again TruthWillSetYouFree . . . Your post lacks truth.
1) “your team has been in talks to win the division the last 5 years”
When? Two teams have went to the Super Bowl from our division in that time span…how about yours?
2) “2008#7 (traded to Indy)”
Actually, we traded it to New England.
3) “The 49ers are as weak as the Raiders”
In the last 8 years, the Niners have faced the Raiders in the regular season twice. How many wins do the Raiders have?
4) “And BTW if you actually read the article you would see that this is a Raiders and 49ers post you dumbass. “The 49ers NEED the Raiders to make this deal work!!”
This is simple economics. Some of the money for the stadium deal is supposed to come from the NFL. The NFL is reluctant to give it unless a stadium is shared. The same thing would happen if the Raiders had a stadium proposal, they would need the Niners for the same “NFL money reason” I just said.
Again speaking of the Raiders:
No fans at the game, No QB, No GM, No TV, No Radio, No commitment to excellence because nobody cares about them.
Truth- you’re smoking something good if you think the niners were favorites the past 5 years. And you want to talk about the niners in a weak division, yeah I guess the division with the reigning NFC Champions is pretty weak. What are you gunna say next? TheY only won because the NFC sucks?.. Keep humoring me kid.
Raiders177- honestly I don’t want to argue with you because when I read your posts you make alot of sense unlike most raider fans (seriously). But when I say they have more talent than the raiders I’m talking right now, not 7 years ago. Plus with 2 draft picks in round one they could pack on some heat on areas they need talent i.e. OL and secondary.
Sorry about the trade info. The Colts traded their first rounder to you the same year. Had to look it up, was going off of memory before.
