Despite spending last week in Miami, I felt strangely out of touch with the NFL rumor mill. This is what happens when you interact with actual people and have “conversations” rather than being glued to a computer all day.
One wholly unsubstantiated rumor I missed was a possible Tashard Choice-for-Antonio Cromartie swap. This apparently started on Chargers linebacker Shaun Phillips’ Twitter account, but the 140-character missive has since been deleted.
Even Choice has heard the rumor, which has since been debunked by Dallas reporters. Choice hopes there is nothing to it.
“I thought [San Diego] was where I was going when I came out,” Choice told the Dallas Morning News. “You never know, man. I want to be in Dallas. It’s a great place.
I really want to be here. Of course I want to run the ball more and
contribute but it’s a tough situation. All those guys can play. I love
those two boys to death.”
We doubt the Cowboys will trade any of their running backs, but Choice wouldn’t be the logical pick to go. He’s cheaper and less injury prone than Marion Barber.
What does his wife Sophie think about it?
Marion Barer may be injury prone and more expensive but there is no question as to the fight he brings to that team. His heart and dedication has made him the fan favorite in Dallas. You don’t ever hear anyone calling for him to leave despite his declined production and his injuries. People love that guy.
It should be Barber as the more likely trade. He just hasn’t been the same guy since he got paid. The last few years he’s been banged up but we’ll see what happens.
Another reason why twitter sucks.
But then again, it is Jerry Jones and you just never know what is on his mind.
Tashard’s choice is to stay in Dallas.
Oh I get it, Tashard Choice a play on words.
You are F’N Brilliant Greg.
Gotta agree with you. Felix Jones has become too valuable to sit when he’s a threat to score every time he gets the ball and when Barber’s effectiveness has dropped. I think MB is gone for even a half-way decent offer because Choice has proven he’s a pretty effective backup and would start for some teams.
With Newman getting old, and having three running backs I don’t know why Jerry wouldn’t do this. He would be retarded not to want to have Jenkins and Cromartie on the corners, but that just goes to show that Jerry has no idea what he is doing.
Either way dallass is on the demise with Jerry running things there.
But what are you gonna get for Barber now? Last season they could have got a lot for Barber, now they wont get any real piece to build around just a little depth maybe. I don’t know how Dallas fans are on Vick, but what about Barber for Vick? The Eagles could get another decent injury prone RB and the Cowboys could get another QB they don’t need, everybody looses lol. What about Barber Kellen Clemens? They get a young guy to go with Romo who is…Romo and Kitna whose ok but if something drastic happened to Romo would you want to build a team around him?
Why wouldn’t he want to go to San Diego and play with a QB who produces the same as Romo but talks a lot more and is cockier than hell?
Yeah, a Pro Bowl caliber CB for a 2nd string RB…that will happen.
They have Newman, Jenkins, Scandrick… they’re going to trade for ANOTHER cornerback that would sit on the bench? That’s a retarded rumor.
Agree completely, Choice is not going anywhere. I’d love to see a Barber for Cromartie trade but I doubt that SD would be that dumb, but, you never know.
Choice stays in Dallas and I predict he gets more carries next season to spell Felix Jones.
@ this class sucks:
That quite possibly may be the most illogical and idiotic post I’ve read in recent memory. Are you just typing names of guys you know? Do you watch football regularly?

=================
There’s that old saw that says you can never have enough CBs. If they acquire Cromartie I think Scandrick may be the one that ends up sitting
Choice has been banged up too when he has gotten a lot of carries. This past season he got a concussion and then was hit again and had to leave another game, the season before he also got hurt after taking the bulk of the carries against the Steelers. So let’s not assume this guy can’t get hurt.
Look, Tashard could get out of town and the whole back field could blow up. The fact is that both Barber AND Jones have had problems with injuries and this has meant that Tashard got to carry the ball more than you might expect from the third stringer. In the end, if Felix can get a handle on his injuries, which have been freaky and they move Barber, Choice would be the perfect complement to Jones.
@ this class sucks
Why would you trade your starting RB to a division rival? And besides no one in Dallas wants Vick, think about it… it’s Dallas, TEXAS. Rednecks would go hog wild.
“With Newman getting old, and having three running backs I don’t know why Jerry wouldn’t do this. He would be retarded not to want to have Jenkins and Cromartie on the corners, but that just goes to show that Jerry has no idea what he is doing.”
Ya, he should hire you to be GM. You could do it part time when you’re not flipping burgers.
“I don’t know how Dallas fans are on Vick, but what about Barber for Vick? ”
aaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaha
You don’t get something for nothing.
It AINT happenin ! Choice stays-on that I’ll bet the house.
A Pro bowl caliber CB for a Pro Bowl caliber RB is what you mean. All Tash needs is the carries, and I dont think he’ll get the bulk by choice-The Cowboys choice.
“Yeah, a Pro Bowl caliber CB for a 2nd string RB…that will happen.”
Yeeeah, Barber made the Pro Bowl same year Cromartie did. 2007. It’s all relative anyway. Barber may be a 2nd stringer in Dallas but he’d be a first stringer in a lot of other places. Including Philly. Come to think of it, Cromartie would be a first stringer there, too. But not in Dallas.
“There’s that old saw that says you can never have enough CBs. If they acquire Cromartie I think Scandrick may be the one that ends up sitting”
I think they would both sit, Cromartie would be the nickel corner.
Why the heck would you want Cromartie? I’m a huge Dallas fan and I would hate that trade.. Don’t yall remember what he did in the most crucial game he had this season against the Jets.. He doesnt tackle! Remember Shonn Green hitting the alley and Cromartie being a wuss.. Here’s the vid.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na4cE3m2Gwo
@ DieHardSkinsFan:
Yep. Jerry doesn’t know what he’s doing. We only have won the division two out of the past three years and produce pro bowl players year in and year out…Moron.
A clever play on his name Gregggggggggg….Well played, Rosiepalmer.

“Ya, he should hire you to be GM. You could do it part time when you’re not flipping burgers.”
Why would he hire me you retard? I don’t have any GM experience. I just know that when Jerry was running things before Parcells you all were bottom feaders and I can’t wait for that to happen again. Sorry for interrupting your Lone Star drinking, wife beating, and trailer park gossiping. I will allow you to go back to that now.
Hey Vox it is truly a fact that Jerry tears your team apart with bad player personnel after a strong minded head coach comes in and builds him a winner.
He can’t pick players. Newman is getting old and is not very good anymore. He is exposed nearly every time he hits the field. Jenkins is good, but would be even better by a veteran presence like Cromartie. You might as well get some value for Choice while you can. You are a typical cowgurl fan with blinders on. Just for once I wish I could hear a cowgurl fan say that their team isn’t going to the super bowl the next year.

As a Skins fan, I’m sure you forgot what it feels like to have Super Bowl aspirations. Florio’s doesn’t count. A team not expected to do anything going downhill huh?? Jerry Jones tearing the team apart??? Why don’t you get your head out of Danny Snyder’s crotch and realize that you are a REDSKINS fan!
Vox the scumbag. A real internet tough guy, a real spineless loser.
Go get your shinebox.

“hey Scooter…….they are talking about CHOICE for Cromartie not Barber………..READ. ”
The article was talking about Choice and a possible trade to SD for Cromartie. We all talked about how Barber would be a better trade because Choice is young and talented. We have been talking about all 3 of said players. Instead of just trying to insult someone and tell us to read, why don’t you learn how to comprehend.
“he’d be a first stringer in a lot of other places. Including Philly”
Hey Vox-hole, why do you always make comments about Philly…I’m not an Eagles fan & I’m sure most people on here aren’t either.
Did you get beat up at a Philly bar because you wanted to play your “Magic the Gathering” game?

roscoe-
I wish you would put together a thought that didn’t include insulting people. Talk about the subject at hand, Jerry can’t pick talent. Instead of thinking about dudes blowing dudes talk about the subject matter. I wouldn’t doubt if you were a dallass fan as well seeing how intelligent your thoughts are.
Peoples Champ-
You refer to the cowgurls as “we”, are you insinuating that you are on the team? Read what I said you idiot. I am saying that Parcells built you a team and Jerry is slowly but surely tearing it apart. I hate having to explain things to stupid people. I am saying that Jerry can’t pick talent and will ultimately screw you all. Look at your teams of the late 90′s with Jimmy Johnson’s influence getting older and Jerry picking players after he left. I think you all had 3 straight years of 5-11. Just read what I write before you respond. I know they don’t teach much in texas but at least I would expect you to be able to comprehend a basic sentence.
“Hey Vox-hole, why do you always make comments about Philly…I’m not an Eagles fan & I’m sure most people on here aren’t either.”
So? Why should I care?
“I wish you would put together a thought that didn’t include insulting people.”
Hypocrite.
“Talk about the subject at hand, Jerry can’t pick talent.”
That’s not the subject at hand, dummy.
“I am saying that Parcells built you a team and Jerry is slowly but surely tearing it apart.”
Right… the Cowboys have won the division two of the three years since Parcells left and even won a playoff game, something that Parcells could never do with the Cowboys.
“Look at your teams of the late 90′s”
Why in hell would you point to over 10 years ago? In the late 90′s the Redskins were a respectable team… but only because they had a former Cowboys coach and didn’t have a nimrod for an owner.
“I am saying that Jerry can’t pick talent and will ultimately screw you all”
A characteristic of Dan Snyder, not Jerry Jones. Only thing is, he already has screwed you all. And look on the bright side, you and Danny have one important thing in common: You’re both jackasses.

How has Jerry done when he picks the talent once a stong minded coach picks for him and they are too old? The Girls go 5-11. What else is there for me to explain you two nimrods. How can you say that it is a characteristic not linked to Jerry? Did he pick Roy Williams? How is that turning out? Did he pick the safety Roy Williams? How did that work out? Your nose tackle picked by who? Parcells. Ware, Spears, Romo, Barber, Choice, Austin, TO picked up by Parcells, Columbo, Adams, That white kid with the mullett that plays line backer, I could go on and on on how Ferry Jones picks shit talent and he is a horrible GM. I think I have proved my case. You all are going to be pissing and moaning if not next season, then the season after. I hope some how some way they just take the team out of dallass. That would make my dreams come true.
Wade has a bit of a history with Cromartie and at the same time Newman did have a little public spat with Phillips in ’08. Newman got paid a lot of money and now he thinks he’s Prime Time…i.e., escorts running backs out of bounds and opts to not get his jersey dirty. Jenkins and Cromartie would be a hell of a lineup when the pass rush is strong.
