An increasing number of NFL players have turned over the past few years to the field of Mixed Martial Arts to prepare for the grind of the football season.
One of the latest guys to adopt the training regimen is Eagles defensive end Trent Cole. He recently told PhiladelphiaEagles.com that he will be working with FOX’s Jay Glazer.
Glazer has been tutoring various NFL players over the past few years, including Vikings defensive end Jared Allen, Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart, and 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis.
Look for even more guys to work with Glazer this year; Jets coach Rex Ryan recently said that “a bunch” of his players will be doing it, and we’re hearing that Texans linebacker Brian Cushing also might be giving it a whirl.
Many players have credited the workouts for the improvement in their play, such as Allen. Besides, we’ve got a feeling that anyone who spits at these guys will end up wishing they’d only gotten the finger.
I’d take any of those football guys in an MMA match. MMA is weak competition.
Here comes Pervy! New Fubu jacket and all!!
He needs to take up getting the Eagles brass to sign a really fat guy to clog the middle that can help Bunkly stop the run.
He’s going to be a killer.
Didnt I see Herscel Walker fighting in a clip ?
Thank you Mdeagle for making the jackass comment of the day. Flex those internet muscles like they actually intimidate someone so you can get it up to pork your hedgehog of a wife tonight.
I remember hearing Glazer ramble on last fall about how Matt Leinart’s MMA training had somehow created a new winning attitude and toughness. Certainly didn’t translate into better play last season but hopefully for Cards fans it will this year.

Just got back from your house. Your wife says hello. She cooks me waffles and chicken for my services. And makes my favorite Kool-Aid. Nice lady you got there….filthy mouth on her though!
yo Trent cole is already a beast so in turn next season he’ll be a moster…
luv his spiderman stance too
@MdEagle
Why is MMA weak competition?? You must either have no respect for MMA fighters or you are 1 yourself, but always get your ass beat and are cocky for no reason.
lol, I’m a retired 31 yr old folks. No need to hate. Just stating an opinion and it was nice to see such intelligent feedback from “Igottz5onit” and “Pitt.” And don’t you have to threaten somebody to use”internet muscles.” I don’t use them, I have “Internet Brains” which you two obviously do not have. Carry on haters.
MMA is like watching Single A Baseball. Give me a break.
I meant those football players would destroy anyone in the Octagon.
lol, I meant I would take any of these football players in a bet against any MMA fighter in a match. Not me!!!

Not suprised about your penchant for chicken! She is a good cook isn’t she?

Wow, you totally got him! How did you come up with that? It’s so original and funny!
It’s only weak that the “martial arts” part of the title is attached. I see NO martial arts in it at all.
It needs a new name.
MMA is gay.
almost as gay as Trent Cole and the Eagirls

ah, laid off, huh?
What the hell is up with the chicken n’ waffles, anyway? No need to explain the Kool-Aid. Kool-Aid’s bringin’ ya fun, Kool-Aid’s got thirst on the run.
i have a legit question. this isn’t meant to be sarcastic. i am just wondering what jay glazer’s background in MMA is and what qualifies him to train these guys. can anyone fill me in? i feel like training with glazer might not be as effective as doing so with a bas rutten type but as i said, i dont know his background so was looking for some info. thx.
I wouldnt want to see Cole in a cage. That dude is a monster do you know how big that guy is. They dont look that big on tv but when you meet them in person its totally different.
Cole lives down the street from me. I met him at a WaWa and Im 6 foot 200 pounds and I look tiny compared to him.
Ah whatever, I just felt like ranting. No harm done.
