Falcons won't be playing tag either

I knew that an uncapped season would severely limit player movement.  Still, I can’t help thinking “That’s it?” when I look at each team’s group of unrestricted free agents.

The Atlanta Falcons were the latest list to come across my screen.  Put it this way: Falcons fans don’t have to worry about losing much talent.

The two best players headed for unrestricted free agency are backup quarterback Chris Redman and cornerback Brian Williams.

Redman played well when given the chance last year, but the Falcons should be able to retain him easily.  Williams, 30, was picked up just before the season and tore his ACL.

Really, that’s the cream of the crop.  Similar situations are evident throughout the league, like in Kansas City and Detroit.  Teams that build through draft and development will be rewarded more than ever in the uncapped year.

My Seahawks don’t have to worry about losing much talent either. Well, they are not actually “my” Seahawks, but you know what I mean.

Gregg’s blurb is a bit short on info regarding the Falcons UFA’s as long snapper Mike Schneck is incredibly valuable and his loss in early November last season and subsequent signing of Bryan Pittman was kinda not good as the November slide from hell happened against the Panthers and Jason Elam’s snafu from Hades in mid-November and versus the Giants the following week with Eli throwing for all those yards against the no-pass-rush d-line/ho-hum secondary and then an almost loss against the Bucs and then the massacre at the Dome versus the Iggles in early December with the spilled chili fries incident and so on and so forth. Elam had his problems before Schneck went out but everythang was exacerbated with his absence.

Falcons are going to be in the Super Bowl next year. You can write it down. They beat the Jets even though their dirty fans tried to ruin the game with snow balls. And they got closer to beating the Saints twice than the lousy Colts…

Believe Gregg Rosenthal is a Jets fan, that’s the long and the short of it. Grubby frozen water chuckers…

What exactly did Detroit and Kansas City ‘build’ via the draft?
Dallas has exactly 1 UFA, backup guard Montrae Holland.
