The agent for Kyle Vanden Bosch wants to dispel any rumors that his client may retire.
“I laugh when I hear that,” Tony Agnone told the Nashville Tennessean. “Kyle hasn’t thought one
iota about retiring. And if you look at all the great sack guys in the
NFL . . . if you were great before you were 30 then you can be great
after 30. It is kind of a joke that once you reach 30 people say you
are washed up as a defensive end.”
Agnone is convinced Vanden Bosch has played his last down in Tennessee, despite some recent comments from Jeff Fisher. The Titans haven’t reached out to discuss a contract.
At 31, Vanden Bosch should still get generous offers, even if he’s as a part-time player. He played five years for the Titans, originally signing for only $565,000 on a one-year deal.
In a thin free agent bunch, Vanden Bosh and Aaron Kampman are two good DE’s that could be on the block. The Bears could use one of these guys.
I wish someone would ONLY pay me $565,000.
he’s a bit washed up. i’m not sure how much tread is left on the tires. but he has a hell of a work ethic and nonstop motor. best of luck to him wherever he goes, but i think its safe to say he wont be on the titans next year.
Can you say – Trace Armstrong? This guy is done.
Ok… this guy had 3 sacks this year… and 4.5 the year before..
And he ‘should get some generous offers’?
Why? Because he sucks?
Is he doing anything non-statistical that makes him hold value? Y’know like drawing doubles, freeing up LB’s, etc.
bluestree – Shows how much you know.Bears can have him.He sucks!
RAMS-get this guy! He’s a bargain!
I think Vanden Bosch can still play at a high enough level to be effective. He had a setback a season ago with the injuries and I really don’t think he was all that healthy last year either. Hopefully this offseason he gets healthy and returns to his 07 form…i think it’s possible
He’ll get one last big pay year… some team will drop $4 or $5 million on him… then cut him next year. He has to hope there’s no lockout… and then he needs to save every dime.
