Bengals want to keep their ex-Cowboys

Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer helped bring safety Roy Williams and defensive tackle Tank Johnson to Cincinnati, and the team would like to keep them there.

The team’s website reports that the organization has talked to Williams about a contract, and they have officially offered a deal to Johnson, who started 13 games for them last season.

Cincinnati is also expected to approach guard Bobbie Williams about a new deal.  The 34-year-old looks like one of the best guards about to hit the market despite his age.

    Bobbie Williams is the best run blocking RG in the NFL.

    Sounds like the Begals are finally getting it right. Although I’m still expecting Malaluga(or however you spell his name) to be an issue unless he gets serious about his alcohol problem.

    Tank Johnson…just another one of those names that whenever I see it, I am reminded that the Bears organization is full of retarded individuals. Just because the man is a thug doesn’t mean he can’t play football.

    HAVE to resign Bobbie, anchor of the line. Roy would be nice to have back, not really concerned about Tank though, Peko and Sims are both better, could find depth with Jason Shirley if you ask me, but knucklehead Mikey wants him to be a two year project as an O lineman, idiot. At least he’s getting something right though.

    You know, Johnson, Big Johnson, the one that shoots the A gap

    Tank’s a felon. The Ravens are probably wet-dreaming already.

    No Bobbie was not the Anchor of the Bengals Oline…Right Side was Avg when it played best this year…Whitworth played better more of a leader he’s the Anchor… Hence why left side of our Oline Dominated

    Whitworth is good for a false start or holding penalty every game. A leader doesn’t do that. Bobbie is more valuable.

    The big question is will old Mikey Boy open up his change purse wide enough to keep Bobbie? The guy will be a hot commodity on the free agent market and will command a kings ransom to keep in Bengal stripes.
    Maybe he’s planning on using his new project, Matt Jones at right guard.

    @Laxer37,
    With the lack of depth and overall “nervousness” of this O Line, I can’t see them letting Bobbie walk. Also, remember sometimes a player at 34 years old won’t get the type of money someone might think and sometimes the player doesn’t want to try and learn a new system. My thoughts, he will be back!
