There probably won’t be as much back-and-forth as there has been, but I think we have all come a long way since the “your mother is so fat…..” jokes that dominated the Packer/Viking pen-and-ink battles earlier this year. And Beer Cheese, you are in your own boat if you think the New Orleans Saints were clearly superior to the Vikings. More fortunate yes, superior, no way.

I’ve tried in the beginning to have decent conversations and debates with people.
On this site, it just doesn’t work.
There are quite a few people that have some interesting things to say and have knowledge of the sport. There are just so many idiots that sidetrack a person and then you get into inane debates with them.
Adam-Chris, Fanoffootball, Hydra, Beer Cheese, yourself ,pervy, Majik and many others are very fun to debate with.
I guess I will give it a try and not let the turds get to me.
I’m going to try just answering the people I see on a daily basis, that I feel are worth responding too.
Ambrose and Ruvell are included in this also.
I may not agree with all of you on everything, but it is still fun to debate.

I’m tired of arguing about something that will never end.
The packers and vikings are both good teams.
Wisconsin and Minnesota are both nice states to raise a family in.
Wisconsin and Minnesota both have their share of farm lands with no civilization.
The vikings were the better team this year. Next year is an entirely new year.
Favre and Rodgers are both good QB’s.
Neither team has won anything in recent years.
This website is seriously starting to sound like grade school kids arguing.
I’m sorry, I’m just tired of this constant fighting. I’m guilty of it in the past as well, but I just realized today that its never going to end.
I’m sure that if I met Pervy or Majik or Jeff or whomever is a Viking fans on the street, I would get along with them just fine. The internet brings out the stupidity in all of us. I’ve met a lot of Viking fans in person, and those conversations are more logical than typing something online like a coward.
By the way, Jolly is an idiot. Caught with a shit load of Codine. No excuse for that.

OK, then answer this for me; Are the New Orleans Saints CLEARLY superior to the Vikings? I would say no…..and that establishes the basis of my contention. The Vikings finished with a better record but didn’t leave a THEY ARE CLEARLY BETTER stamp on my forehead, as they did on yours. Both teams had many in-common opponents with similar results. If the Packers had simply split with the Vikings, as is the case in most years, they would have had the same record. They didn’t, so the Vikings finished with a better record. How in the world does this make them CLEARLY SUPERIOR? Take your emotion out of it. Imagine if you had to explain the circumstances to a non-fan; the similar records, the in-common opponents, the better stat’s by the Packers, the second half record of 7-1 vs 5-3, the over-the-top never-to-be-repeated season by Favre, combined with the fact the Packers QB matched him! The Packers do not have as good of a secondary….that’s it. Would this person that you just finished explaining all of this to walk away thinking that the Packers are nearly as good as the Vikings, or would this person feel that the Vikings are CLEARLY SUPERIOR? Everyone on this site already knows the answer, except you. Oh…one last thing…if you’re going to make it personal….you can FO!

“Last year” is relevant beer because it was the LAST season played. Now, when we roll up to September, that is when it will mean nothing.
Bragging about 14-43 years ago is what I’m calling asinine. Those teams have zero bearing on what happened this year.

It’s just the fact that when the Vikings are better, we have to hear about yesteryear, and when the Pack is better, present day, we have to hear about that.

The Vikings were better than the Pack last year. They were better the year before that too, and they were also better in 1998. Is that up for debate? No. Is that any more relevant than the Packers “dusty old championship trophies”? Not really.
The past is the past, no matter how long ago it was. Hope you enjoyed your run last year. It’s over now though, and you’re just as guilty as bringing up the “glory years” as anyone.

Let what go? They may have finished with a better record, but the Vikings did not impress enough to say, “wow, they are so much better than the Packers.” OJ was found not guilty too, but that didn’t make him innocent.
Seeing is believing and the Vikings didn’t separate themselves enough to warrant the acknowledgment you are demanding. Both teams had eerily similar stat’s, and the Packers met or exceeded the Vikings in several major categories….and did it with a team of under-achievers, not a boatload (get it?) of all-stars and (too many) pro-bowlers. So is the question really who is better, or who is luckier? Didn’t your rank-and-file spout that the best team didn’t win the NFC Championship? Yes, they did…and I agree….and I will also use that logic here. The Packers are at least “as good” as the Vikings. Find me one Packer fan that doesn’t agree.

After I posted it I thought imdb’s page was wrong, which prompted my second post. However, imdb was right.
