Jason La Canfora of NFL Network recently reported that a framework is in place for a new contract between the Browns and receiver Josh Cribbs.

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer now reports that the deal could be done by the end of next week.

With agents and teams convening in Indianapolis for the Scouting Combine, it’s likely that Cribbs’ representatives will hammer out any remaining details there.

The three-year deal would replace the three remaining years on Cribbs’ current commitment.

He reportedly wants $10 million in guaranteed money; the team wants to give him only $5 million guaranteed. Apparently, there’s optimism that the gap will be bridged.
