The Pats are near the top, and with their picks in the next two drafts they’ll stay there. With or without Moss. It would be nice to see them win with him in 2010. Brady and Moss are the best in the league at their respective positions. Look for the Patriots to win in either 2010 or 2011, maybe both. They’ve been to the Superbowl 4 of the 8 seasons Brady has started. He’s been a Pat 10 years but sat his rookie year, and was hurt in ’08. That adds up to a Pats Superbowl run in one of the next two years.

I don’t care how many more Packer fans there are than Vikes fans. What matters to me is the group of loyal Vikes fans we do have absolutely bleed purple. This season we owned Green Bay…with your boy Brett. That makes me smile every time I think of it. Col. Klink will easily outsmart Belichik and get Moss for nothing. He will also outsmart Goodell and find a way for Bert to legally throw to three different guys on every play, and for the Vikes to legally have 12 men not only in the huddle but in formations. Ummm, the Golden Child Rodgers is 17-15 in his 2 years as Packers QB, without even one road victory over a quality team (and no, the week 17 win this year over AZ’s scrubs doesn’t count) – so, first, as a lifelong Packers fan your “ID” is ridiculous. Wait til Randy Moss finds out what it’s like to not have Wes Welker on the other side drawing all the coverage so he gets wide open. It’s not like he ever produced anything without having Welker as the focal point of every defense they play. Wait a minute….. never mind. The only thing that could make Moss’s possible return to Minnesota any better would be if Wilf offered Favre a small ownership stake to entice him back for another season. If Packer fans were pissed about him playing here one season just think how much worse it would be for him to be a part-owner in the team. That would greatly reduce the number of them who will act as though they never spoke a harsh word about him 5 years from now.

I’m curious why so many Viking fans like “jonnyb” think that a rumor of Moss to Minnesota is “killing” Packer fans. In the first place, it would be a great move by Minnesota to entice Favre back. Second, most Packer fans are glad Favre is gone. When again is the last time a Packer team with Favre as QB did any serious post season damage? And why did each and every Packer Post season team since 1998 fail to advance? Favre was resting on his early career laurels in Green Bay. He had become the biggest “big fish in the little pond” in the history of the NFL thanks in large part to the pathetic and pitiful Mike Sherman. He felt himself to be bigger than the team, certainly more important than the team.
Unlike Minnesota, the Packers have a tradition of which that most Packer fans are extremely proud. It was time for Favre to move on and for the Packers to move on.
I’m not quite sure what happened in 2009. Viking fans declared that the Viking team was the most talented in history, yet, with Favre replacing the inept Tarvaris Jackson, the team only won two more games than in 2008 and still did not win a Super Bowl, in fact, as we all know, they didn’t even get to the Super Bowl. Why? Because Favre is a choker. He will always be a choker. And as long as Favre is the QB in Minny, the Vikings will have no chance at all of getting over their reputation as chokers.
Ziggy Wilf and the Vikings have a cash flow problem. Favre’s 2009 salary was split into two installments. Half was paid in 2009, the other half, whether he plays in 2010 or not, will be paid to Favre in 2010. Bad coach, bad statium, a owner with shalow pockets, and bad, bandwagon jumping fans who only show up during really good times.
How long is the Viking season ticket waiting list again??? What? There is no waiting list for tickets in Minnesota? What’s up with that?

Why does the media always have this need to ALWAYS protect the Patriots.
I like the Patriots, but if Terrell Owens said this … MAJOR CRISIS!!!
All of these sportswriters are political and biased. They are not objective.
Just because TO doesn’t “float your boat”, but anything Patriot-like does … it doesn’t mean you have to make TO look worse than Osama bin Laden and the Patriots franchise look like the Playboy Mansion.
Like the Playboy Mansion, New England is ALWAYS a great place to score.

I still showed at 32 years of age, now I’m 33, that I am durable.
AHAHAHA. On the contrary Randy, you have proven just the opposite. You disappear in the second half of the season and have done so for the past five years or more. Moss might be a lot of things but durable is definitely not one of them.
My bet is that if Moss’ agents play hardball with NE because of Welker’s recovery time, that NE will sign a bunch of receivers. Bill doesn’t strike me as one that allows himself to be manipulated.

Randy Moss, given his talent, ability and physical work ethic, forces his team to feature him as their main offensive weapon because he is always out of the gate their best physical option. He then, after usually being put in a position of leadership on his team, proceeds to show his mental weakness and fragility by letting opponents consistently get into his head and folding it up when he is called upon to lead in crucial situations. He has been the star receiver on a team that went 16-0 in the regular season and one that went 15-1 in the regular season. Both teams lost in the playoffs, with Moss’ lack of consistency a key contributor. He belongs on the Redskins.
The Patriots gave Moss a contract in 2008 that made him one of the highest paid receivers in the game. His salary and cap number this year far surpasses any other Patriot. So with his “they don’t pay” comments, not only is he a liar, but he is suggesting that the Patriots take any and all cash they have and dedicate it to him, because he is the best and makes such a huge difference on game day.
The Patriots are consistently at the salary cap limit. The team’s philosophy is to pay more money to more players, providing better depth through the roster. This means that the “bottom half” of the Patriots roster makes more than the “bottom half” of most other team’s rosters. That is why when a Patriot goes down, there is usually someone good enough to fill in, and a key to the team’s success in 2003 when 75% of the team was injured.
Randy Moss is a me-first individual who it has been my opinion since day one should never have been brought onto the team. I sincerely hope they trade him. I wouldn’t even mind if it was within the division, because apparently according to Randy all it takes to shut him down is to put a safety over the top. Perrenial loser.

Farve wants Randy
The one way for that Farve comes back to the Vikings is for the Vikings to get him Randy so he can do what he loves to do the most….chuck bombs all day. And since that’s all Randy likes to do is just go deep and catch bombs this would seem to be a perfect match for these two divas. The Vikings have picks 30,62,93,125,157,189,221. The Patriots don’t have a 3rd or 5th round pick. So if they ask for 93 and 157 i think they could get that for Moss. Then you take the money you were going to pay Moss with and apply that to Vince Wilfork and get him locked up. And then take that 5th round pick from Minnesota and a throw in player and make the Branch deal happen. It doesn’t solve all their problems but it’s a step in the right direction to correct the play and attitude on this team.

Cursed or not. It would be great to watch Favre and Moss for one year. Chilly and Belichick do not get along, so it might be tough to work out a deal.But you can bet Zigi will try his best to get him. Well Packer fans….the nightmare just keeps getting worse!! Floria, you are smart enough to know that Moss isn’t gonna dog it during a contract year. He’ll still have over 1,000 yards receiving, go to the pro-bowl, etc., etc., then he will sign some uber contract with the Redskins, Seahawks, or some other team (that will probably overpay).

Guys, from what I read from Randy’s interview, I don’t think Randy wants to leave New England. I think that Randy knows right now that he has the gun so to speak and that he holds the cards because Wes Welker may not play in 2010, so unless the Pats go out and get a WR, like a Brandon Marshall, or Anquan Bolden, Moss will likely be in New England in 2010. Moss has some leverage right now, so why can’t he use it? Despite his up and down injury-plagued season, Moss was still productive. Moss led the league in TD catches and was in the top 5 in yards. Right now, Bill Belichick isn’t in any position to cut Randy or trade him.
Look, I’ve been reading Mike Floria’s comments about Moss all year and it’s obvious that he can’t stand Randy, and that’s fine. If Randy really doesn’t want to be in New England, then it would be best for all involved if he did leave. I’m a life-long Viking fan and a Moss fan, but I have to be honest, the Vikings really don’t need Moss. Would I love to see Randy come back to Minnesota? Of course I would, but the Vikings are so loaded right now on offense, and Sidney Rice is a number one receiver right now. The Vikings need help in their secondary and offensive line more than they need Randy Moss.
When it’s all said and done, I think that Moss will remain in New England because Tom Brady wants Randy Moss to stay there and Moss loves playing with Tom Brady, one of the best QB’s of all time.

I guess some folks really underestimate how shrewd and calculating Belichik is on the trade market. There’s no way he does this deal for Moss without getting Harvin in return at least.
Given how well Belichik has navigated the trade market (Dumping Branch and Seymour for 1st rounders, Moss for a 4th, Welker, franchising a departing Cassell for picks) there’s no way he deals Moss without making out like a bandit.
