Silver&Black666 – Yeah you’re right Mario Williams was the right choice! I mean look how many playoff games and Superbowl runs the Texans have had since they drafted him! —-> BIG FAT ZERO!
Meanwhile the Saints have been 3-1 in playoff games and 1-0 in the Superbowl since they drafted Reggie Bush! Glad it worked out for the Texans!
SirSuperSouthern – As someone else mentioned, Bush has a Heisman and a SUPERBOWL RING! Young will never take a team to win the Superbowl.
Look at the 2006 draft:
1. Mario Williams
2. Reggie Bush
3. Vince Young
4. D’Brickashaw Ferguson
5. AJ Hawk
6. Vernon Davis
7. Michael Huff
8. Donte Whitner
9. Ernie Sims
10. Matt Leinart
wow what an impressive list huh? Other than Williams who the Saints had no shot at anyways, who else could they have drafted in that top 10 that would’ve made a bigger impact to the team? No one.

For all those that won’t to say Reggie’s SB ring is come kind of validation of his greatness, get real. Reggie is not even the equivalent of a Dante Hall. Seriously, the guy couldn’t rush for a 1,000 yards in a 20 game NFL season. A SB ring means Reggie was part of great team and he is not even the best RB on that team.
As far as possible sanctions go, the USC homers that think USC isn’t at fault because it wasn’t boosters giving out the benefits are in for a rude awakening. Not only did Reggie cost the USC a mythical NC with his bonehead lateral against UT, he is also going to cause the paper champs to get stripped of 2 MNCs as well as Vince Young’s heisman. Cheat on!

Good point, although CEOs outside of Japan do not take responsibility anymore either. Captains go down with their ships – if they are responsible for the ship getting sunk, eveybody else gets a seat in the lifeboat first. But (American) college sports coaches are the biggest bunch of selfish cowards in all the world. People idolize them and treat them with respect, but they are the pile of dog crap on the boots of society. If aliens ever show up at the Earth and ask for some people to probe, we should hand over college athletic coaches first.

there’s dirty work involved with basicly every single 5 star recruit, in the nation…so who care’s what USC gave Reggie Bush….you think the university of Alabama isnt paying the bills for mark Ingrahms family….guess again if you think not
he’s been every bit of the NFL player he’s capable of being, a few injuries and playing in the Saints offense where Sean Payton likes displaying a different play maker every week has limited his production, but jesus christ people were expecting him to be Barry Sanders and Marshal Faulk rolled into one coming out of collage, there was no way for him to live up to expectations
but only a real imbecile, complete moron, blooming idiot, a fat a$$ jealous of Kim, or a nimrod without any knowlege of the game would lable Reggie a bust

thats a little bit of a strange argument to determine who is the better draft pick by how many playoff games they’ve been a part of.
i guess by that argument almost any player drafted in the last decade that wasn’t drafted by raiders, browns, lions, etc. ( you know the list) would have been a better pick than mario williams since they had at least one playoff game,including any punters or place kickers. pretty brilliant logic.

Right, Reggie Bush is the only college football player that received bennies for playing. There are quite a few that make the term student- athlete a joke. They are hired guns, plain and simple. I found the same thing in the service when I played baseball. I had to do my normal job. The team representing HQs only played baseball and got ringers from all over. It’s why I laugh when coaches state sports teaches you life lessons. What it teaches is the dirty little secret of life. People cheat to win.
