We noted last week that the Bears were poised to hire former Seahawks General Manager Tim Ruskell, and now the deal is reportedly done.
Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Ruskell has agreed to become the Bears’ director of player personnel, and the deal is expected to be announced in the next 48 hours.
Ruskell and Bears G.M. Jerry Angelo are friends who previously worked together with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Although he apparently won’t have the same title, Ruskell is filling a void left when the Bears fired senior director of pro personnel Bobby DePaul.
Ruskell resigned in December after five years with the Seahawks.
Man, things just keep getting worse and worse in chi town.
the Bears just continue to make stupid moves…when will it ever end?
Ahhahahahahahahahaha. Poor Bears fans.
hahahahahahahahahaa!

Take it from a long suffering Bears fan…IT NEVER ENDS!
Doh!?! So glad I’m not a Bears’ fan. That’s like your basement bathroom clogging up and then blowing up while you’re out of town….
Nasty!
Why not hire the guy that turned the Seahawks into such a dominant team through a series of awesome and astute moves.
i think this just proves that the NFL, for management and coaching positions, is a good ol boys network. good god, ruskell ran the seahawks into the ground, he’s going to demolish the bears.
We all know what great success Seattle has had the last few years (LOL), so let’s bring their guy to Chicago. Honest, the guys running the show in Chicago are morons.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
I’m a………….
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Hawks fan and I just lost 10 bucks, to myself!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Well Virgina I hope your happy knowing George Halas is rolling in his grave because of you have ruined the Bears. Unfortunatley your son is not any smarter then you so we have many more bad years coming!

They can’t do that. he is currently the GM of the Packers.
Anything worthy come out of Chicago?

Amen to that! Bears fans, say hello to the NFC Central basement!
Nooooooooooooooo!
Ruskell destroyed the Seahawks, joining them in their Super Bowl season and leaving this year with the team the smoking crater they are now. FML.
I’m sure Ruskell will waste no time saddling the Bears with washed up, retread players like he did during his tenure with the Seahawks. He probably already has a Chicago jersey ready with Westbrook’s number.
Big F’n deal, the Bears will still suck!
well, I guess if we’re going to fail and Lovie and Jerry will be fired next year (Lord willing) we may as well do it in epic fashion. Good, gandhi, how can they be so idiotic. Can Jerry or Lovie hire anyone based on their skill/ resume and not on the basis of friendship?
Text message to Jim Mora Jr.: “Look who has a job and who doesn’t.”
That really sucks.. I wanted him in GB.
Ruskell is the only man in history that’s ever turned a Ted Thompson team into an actual contender. Now that we can’t have him, we’re doomed for years to come.
I can’t believe this guy got another job in the NFL. Who the hell could possibly consider this a good move? It’s like hiring Bernie Madoff to handle your investments. Seriously, has any GM EVER done a worse job in the NFL? Oh wait, I forgot… Al Davis is still running the Raiders. I’m not going to enjoy watching this jagoff destroy another team.
Look, Smith and Angelo know the axe is falling on them both after this upcoming season, so they’re bringing in all their ‘buddies’ for one last payday in hopes that if any of them get future jobs, they’ll return the favor.
He’s still not been hired…
