Where’s the asshat who earlier wrote (in response to Florio’s piece on the U.S. hockey team) that European hockey players are the best, because they have such tough lives compared to North Americans?

And when the Olympics end, the fantastic ratings for “Parenthood”, “The Marriage Ref” and “The Tonight Show w Jay Leno” (minus the audience who preferred Conan and minus the old people who no longer make it their habit to watch due to him moving the first time) will lead to a wonderful increase of football/Sprint phone coverage.

Sunday’s Gold medal game against Canada (if Halak doesn’t stand on his head and beat them tonight)will be the most watched TV hockey game EVER in the USA!
And like the girls last night, Canadian players will likewise celebrate at center ice.

Canadian players, still wearing their uniforms and with gold medals draped around their necks, celebrated their victory by drinking champagne and beer at centre ice following a 2-0 win over the United States at Canada Hockey Place. The party girls have got a thumbs-up from the lead singer of Celtic rock band Great Big Sea. Singer Alan Doyle had no problem with the on-ice bash. He compared being on a hockey team to being in a band, saying you have to celebrate the good days to make the bad ones worth it. Doyle was on hand because it is Newfoundland and Labrador Day at the Games.

Okay, don’t mean to rain on your parade, Mike, but Idol was on three nights this week and you’re only mentioning the Thursday results show. As a rule, results shows get lower ratings than performance shows. I watched both. Nice gadget that DVR. And since you keep telling me the skiing results in the NBC sports headlines, I just fast-forward through those competitions. No need to watch if I already know the outcome.
