Several league insiders have believed for years that the cutthroat nature of the NFL agent industry will eventually lead to violence between competing agents and/or the “runners” who help agents recruit new players.
Though, to our knowledge, fisticuffs or worse have yet to occur, a league source tells us that, during a recent evening in Indianapolis, two competing marketing agents nearly came to blows at a local bar. They had to be physically restrained and separated.
The confrontation was caused by their mutual efforts to land the same player as a client.
Marketing representatives get relatively little attention in comparison to the better-known agents who negotiate football contracts. Though there are fewer marketing reps because a relatively small percentage of NFL players ever make real money on off-field endeavors, marketing agents aren’t regulated by the NFLPA, and they often earn fees of up to 20 percent of the value of the deal. Contract agents are limited to a maximum fee of three percent.
So we can understand why there would be some periodic punching. And we’re surprised there isn’t more of it.
I would love to see the “insiders” punch it out to see who is the best, I will take Glazer from Fox.
I guess their going to have to Roshambo for it.

I guess you know there’s relatively little NFL news when you guys start reporting on a couple marketing reps having to be “restrained” after a few too many pomegranate martinis. Come on. Give us some real news. If I wanted to hear about this crap, I’d head over to the nearest TGI Fridays during happy hour…
I would like to see NBC Florio v FOX Glazer.. My guess is Glazer wins via rear naked choke at :23 seconds of the first round OR Glazer wins via a Florio tap out on his way to the cage.
