Ron Turner heads back to the NFL

Not long after former Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner was fired, he was hired by Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh to serve as quarterbacks coach.

And it didn’t last long.

Per Rivals.com (via J.T. of CFT), Turner will join the Colts as the team’s new receivers coach.

Clyde Christensen currently is the receivers coach in Indy, but he’s expected to become the offensive coordinator if/when Tom Moore re-retires.

If nothing else, the addition of Turner, who was widely criticized for his work with the Chicago offense, will provide another magnet for blame that might otherwise go to quarterback Peyton Manning when things don’t go well.

Of course, when things work, it’s all because of Peyton.

  1. Good move considering the excellent performance of chicago receivers during the turner days. Oh wait

  2. I totally agree that Peyton might receive not enough blame, and maybe a little too much credit, but to rip on Peyton and spout out at every opportunity from every orifice about how awesome Daunte Culpepper is seems a little off. I wonder if you’d keep the pressure on Manning if Peyton wrote an “exclusive email” to you.
I know whenever I comment it’s always about your Culpepper bias, but thats because that’s really the only thing you’re doing wrong IMO. I love this site and its the first site i come to for football info, its just that if you’d get rid of some of the bias’s (mainly the Culpepper one) it’d be dang near perfect.

  3. Florio SOB, Peyton receives plenty of the blame from the media, and A-holes, like you, when the Colts lose.

Florio….your such a HOMO. Be a real journalist for a change. You’d fit in real well with Fox News.

  5. I guess it is clear what Florio’s “take” on Manning is going to be for now on.
Hey everybody, expect this to be drummed into your heads for the next few years.
