Benjua is right. It isn’t like this is the first time Johnson has been in a weight room in six months.
BTW, no spotter in the world is going to catch 275 lbs in mid-air and keep it from crashing down on somebody… and besides that for most athletes, 275 lbs isn’t a really heavy weight where a spotter is absolutely necessary.

i guess i can’t prove it, but i’m going to go out on a limb and guess this wasn’t the first time he’s bench pressed since the incident so i don’t think it shows any remarkable heart and determination. i have no problems with stafon and i hope he lands in the NFL but this isn’t exactly like leftwich being carried down the field between plays by teammates because his leg is broken.

Leading running backs only had 26 raps, so he didn’t too bad overall.
Bench press reps matter about as much as Rosenthal’s opinion anyways, but glad to hear he made it to the combine at all.

It must have taken a lot of courage to get up there in front of all those people and do something that almost killed you less than six months ago. I hope he makes it in the NFL it would be a good story.
