Unofficially, Gerhart can go

Toby Gerhart

Well, to the extent that any NFL scouts had doubts about the athletic ability of Stanford running back Toby Gerhart, the Heisman finalist has addressed them.

Unofficially, Gerhart ran the 40-yard dash in an unofficial time of 4.53 seconds at the Scouting Combine in Indy.

I know this because I’m watching the Underwear Olympics on my Sprint phone, and Rich Eisen and the gang are keeping my awake via a range of interesting topics and off-the-cuff discussion that makes it all seem like four or five buddies sitting in someone’s den. Without the burping, cursing, or farting. (Or, more accurately, without any farting that I can hear.)

So perhaps if Gerhart believes he’ll be compared only to other white players, perhaps he’ll be hearing less “John Riggins” and more “Don Beebe.”
