The Chiefs spent much of 2009 evaluating their poor in-house options at the skill positions, and they’ve decided who they don’t want back in 2010.
The team will release running back Dantrell Savage and wide receiver Devard Darling Wednesday, according to Josh Looney of the team’s website.
Darling is a former third-round pick of the Ravens; he caught 17 passes in 2009. Savage was an undrafted leftover from the Herm Edwards regime that helped on returns.

They figured anyone named “Savage” must be a great football player.
Who needs Savage when you have a talent like Lance Long?
i think the Chiefs will/should make a big splash in free agency……sign Karlos Dansby, one of the 4 veteran backs, try to get Logan Mankins, and in the draft, they should take Okung

Come on! Change the title to “Chiefs drop a duce”! You know you want to . . .
These players were great contributors to the Chiefs success in 2009!!
They both played with heart and held their head high off the field.
It is my hopes they are released to catch on with another team.
