come on Man! everybody says this and that about the kid and yet we’ve seen what? exactly don’t let the door knob hit you home boy its all hype seems to me, who is he Mike Ditka at the TE position? he has done nothing and i mean nothing since his freaking 1st day at the bears complex! although i will say this! the kid is freakish with speed and maybe just maybe if he got the rock a lil more he could break out either way its all about kicking ass and taking names when you do get that chance so how bout this trade him for a number one! what nobody willing to take him for a number one? wait a min i thought he was all that and a bag of chips, well anyway trade him for a number one (giggles) then give the broncos the number one in exchange for B marsh! dayum yall now whats up HUH? you feel me with that one?

Olsen is one of the most underrated tight ends in the league. He deserves to go to a team that runs a west coast offense, or something of the similar, to enhance his pass catching skills and utilize his ability in the red zone. Wave goodbye to the windy city, Greg.

I agree with Olsen for Adalius Thomas. Watson’s probably leaving the Patriots this year anyway and Chris Baker is agood mix of blocking and receiving so having a receiver like Olsen would be awesome

Hey morons…..Greg Olsen can’t block…..Martz’s system needs TEs who can block…..Take off the blinders, Olsen is no longer a fit in Chicago, and he’s too good a talent for limited action. Do the math, you have to trade him and get a high pick.

I hate to burst your bubble, but I’m a huge FB fan who pays attention to every team, not just my own. I don’t play fantasy and don’t look at sites about it. I watch every game I can every week, and I saw many Bears games last year. I expected big things from Olsen having Cutler as his QB. It was from first-hand viewing that I say he was not in the place Cutler expected him to be many times, and he also dropped quite a few passes that he should have caught. I think Earl Bennett has a chance to be a good receiver and Johnny Knox too. I think part of the reason Olsen was a primary receiver was problems with the O-line. Cutler didn’t have a lot of time to get balls downfield. They definitely need to find a left tackle (Pace was not the answer for sure).

Here you go geniuses. Bears trade Olsen to Pats for one of their three 2nd rounders, and in turn sign Ben Watson. That would be a steal, and fill a hole at “blocking” TE for Martz.

Wow I can’t believe anyone thinks Olsen is worth second rounder let alone a first. He is not that good, plus he drops alot of balls. My skins have two tightends that can block, don’t drop balls, and put up better numbers then olsen ever has in Cooley and Davis. It would be hard to get a 2nd rounder for either of them.
Tight ends just arent worth that much which is why first round tight ends are typically seen as waste of picks.

Have you seen Olsen run “routes” and try to catch the ball? I know he had 60 catches last year, but he had a bunch of drops too. And a lot of being in a completely different area than where Cutler threw the ball (they can’t all be Culter’s fault). Don’t wish that overrated blown first round draft pick from “THE U” on your team. ”
Just because you post a bunch of times, doesn’t indicated that you make any sense.
Olsen was picked at the end of the first round, and was a very good value at that spot, especially since the Bears were in need at that position. You probably saw a couple of highlights, looked up his stats, and made your decision on his value based on that, and the posts of some of the morons whose knowledge of football is gleaned off some fantasy site.
He’s not a superstar, but he’s definitely one of the better receiving tight ends. If he had the opportunity to play in a system where there was threat of a really good running attack with a good QB, he’s put up very good numbers consistently. Look at Gates. What I saw of him last year specifically, he’s an oaf, who gets his catches and TDs, because with SD, you’ve got to respect the run, and the pass, and not just to him. Olsen was the only guy on that team that was a threat as a receiver, so he was consistently doubled. The Bears blow, and I’m a fan unfortunately, and if I were Olsen, I’d be jumping on the chance to get out.

All this Bears speculation about Olsen is really sad. Are we gonna trade away a guy who was a first round pick and our best pass catcher cause he doensn’t fit Mike Martz’s system. Him and Lovie are lame ducks who will be gone next year. I’d love for us to somehow get Marshall but its not gonna happen. He will command a 1st 3rd and 6th at least if thats what Roy Crybaby Williams got. Martz needs to wake up and adjust his system to what we have. Cutler loves to throw to the TE. He loves play action and bootlegs. Dropping him straight back in 7 step drops with 3 and 4 WR’s who aren’t better than Olsen is gonna lead to more picks and its gonna get Cutler killed. Hopefully Bill Cowher will still come here after this trainwreck is over in 2011.

DCViking and Chickenfoot; Finley is a good young stud at TE, but McCarthy likes to use two tight ends quite a bit, and Donald Lee dropped more passes than he caught last year. The Bears have expressed interest in Kampman, he’ll probably be gone anyway, I think the Pack may be able to tender him, then do a ‘sign and trade’ to get something of value for him, but I’m probably wrong. All that free agent crap confuses me.

I watched every game , every play. As poor as we looked at times, and as poor aswe played, we were ahandful of plays away from a winning season. Olsen will never be a complete te. He will however deliver trade value. This is going to be an interesting week.

Pats only use TEs as blockers, and Olsen is only a soft, pass catcher. He should have his agent market him as a WR, he’d see a better market.
