Colts don't tender Marlin Jackson

The Indianapolis Colts are prepared to say goodbye to Marlin Jackson.

The Colts didn’t tender Jackson at any level, meaning he’s now an unrestricted free agent who can sign with any team.

Although Jackson is just 26 years old and has shown promise as a cornerback, it’s not a huge surprise that the Colts are willing to let him leave. Jackson suffered a torn ACL at practice in November, and in the last two seasons he’s played just 11 games.

Jackson has been in the league for five years, all with the Colts.

First Michael, now Marin – will Tito be next?

It’s disappointing but not surprising. I liked Jackson but you can have only one oft-injured player in your defensive backfield.

Jackson is a potential pro-bowler as a cover-2 corner. VERY solid tackler and heady player.
Problem is that the Colts are going to be playing more and more man to man.
He will probably be a good safety in any system.

Still a good chance he’ll be back with the Colts.
