Our pal Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald reports that, contrary to reports that soon-to-be-free-agent linebacker Karlos Dansby will be heading to Miami tonight, Dansby is not traveling to South Florida.
Darlington cites quadruple confirmation for his report.
That said, the Dolphins have no reason to admit to setting up travel plans for Dansby. Any communications before midnight -- even calls or e-mails to set up post-midnight travel -- constitutes tampering.
So even with Darlington’s multiple confirmations, we rule out nothing at this time of the year. Indeed, the Dolphins finagled a quick deal with then-49ers guard Justin Smiley two years ago, under circumstances suggesting that travel plans were made before the clock struck twelve.
