I can see why peppers would want to go to Chicago. He get’s to face Bryant Mckinnie(until he gets benched) twice a year. Not to mention the lions and the packers O-line twice. Those six games alone should be good for 10 sacks.

section 666: sub-section (H) (E) (LL)No longer will unrestricted free agents be able to discuss contracts 1 team at a time. All Free agents will be bid on in an auction. The Team that offers and average of the most money per year gets the contract.
Seriously though they should just start the new league year at 12 pm instead of 12 am that way they can make it an event like the draft or combine. That way deals can get done after the deadline instead of having to wait till the next morning before something can happen.

Whoever that league source is is an idiot. The Eagles were never in. Everyone knew what it was going to take to get Peppers signed. A boatload of money. It was going to take a long term contract with alot of guaranteed money and about $15 million a year.
The Eagles knew that they werent going to give him a contract like that. They just fane a little bit of interest just so Eagles fans dont go nuts.
Any Eagles fan that didnt know this going into tonight is never going to learn. It happens every year. Alot of Eagles fans(and other NFL fans) are sheep and will let their Sheppard(The Team) lead them straight into the slaughter house.

Beloitjc….screw it up? If they sign him they will screw it up. We finished 7-9 last year and haven’t made the playoffs since the Super Bowl year. We have MANY holes. I’m telling you, this is gonna be another Haynesworth deal where a guy signs for a ton of money and then had nothing to play for and looks nothing like he did the season before. With the money it will take to sign him (huge if the Redskins dropped out already) how much does that leave us to upgrade in other areas? Oh right…none. And we can upgrade through the draft…oh right again….we don’t pick until the 3rd round because of Angelo. This next year is done already if this happens. Jerry and Lovie will both be gone (Lovie should have been gone this year) and we will have new people in place but it with this $40 million black cloud hanging over our head. As if we haven’t mortgaged enough of our future with the Cutler trade and Gaines signing, now we have to deal with this. Ted Phillips, what are you thinking???

Tim Hasselbeck just called Karlos Dansby a better free agent than Julius Peppers…which proves that his ability as an analyist is identical to his abilities as a sub par backup QB. Tim, you cannot analyze a players abilities based on how likely you would be to turn the ball over to them. Having said that I am pleased to welcome Julius Peppers as the newest member of the Chicago Bears!

The Bears will get Peppers, Angelo’s career depends on it along with Lovies their Tampa 2 defense absolutely requires a stud DE pass rusher along with a stud 3 technique DT (t.Harris) and a ball hawking safety. With the death of gaines Adams they lost their potential pass rusher and also their 2nd round pick where they might have found one. Angelo only has one year to turn this around and he can’t put it in the hands of a mid draft pick or a player coming off major knee surgery. Look for the Bears to sign Peppers and either Rolle, Sharper or Atogwe this morning.
