I love Dunn. As a Seminoles fan I loved watching him play and always admired him. He is very involved in charity work and has always done right by his mom’s spirit (who was a police officer killed while on duty by a drug dealer).
I live in Baton Rouge. Corporal Betty Smothers (Dunn’s mom) was making an off-duty deposit while moon lighting as security for a grocery store. She was gunned down during a robbery while making a bank deposit. Kevin Brumfield is on death row, Henri Broadway is doing life and ..i don’t remember the other killers names…..still very tragic.
LSU was down in those years under Curley Hallman…who only got the job because Favre was his QB when USM beat a couple of SEC teams. Curley grew up in Tuscaloosa but played at Texas A&M….terrible DB and worse coach. Warrick did well in playing for Coach Bowden and is one of the best finest people in sports. Saints fans hate the Falcons (not as much as VIKES/PACKERS hate each other), but Baton Rouge is very proud of Warrick Dunn…..and he has served his mother’s memory remarkably well.

very true Chap, the funny thing is if you go to Atlanta you’ll find more people still wearing that mediocre QB Vick’s jersey than Dunn’s. They’re mostly disgruntled african-americans who believe that Vick did nothing wrong and it was just the man trying to shut a rich black brother down.
Warrick Dunn is a true role model.

Good for Dunn! Arthur Blank has done nothing for the city of Atlanta. And…he wants the taxpayers to help in part to approve financing for his new stadium. Screw him and his fancy overpriced home on W. Paces Ferry!

We shouldn’t be surprised this is one of the classiest guys the NFL has put out. It just goes to show that humble beginnings don’t dictate the outcome but faithfulness is evidence of the heart of this man…thats where it’s at!
Warrick is one guy that made the NFL a better place and now will re-enter and make the boardrooms of the NFL a better place.
