Jets officially cut Thomas Jones

On a day where PFT has put up over 115 posts, a few have still slipped through the cracks.

So it’s housecleaning time here, and it was a housecleaning afternoon for the Jets.

The team officially released Thomas Jones, after first announcing the move would happen Monday.  PFT first reported the team is interested in re-signing Jones.

The Jets also cut cornerback Donald Strickland.  With Lito Sheppard released Thursday and Antonio Cromartie New York-bound, the team’s cornerback group will be vastly different next year.

thomas jones is a great leader for the jets offense but shonn greene is the future of the new york jets. he will definately be pro bowl bound. the jets will again have the leagues best defense next year with the best shut down corner in the league and the fastest corner in the league, and if we get taylor mays as our safety, we will have one of the greatest defenses ever made, jets = superbowl bound

Quick Rex Ryan show up to Adalius Thomas’s house when he gets cut like you did for Bart Scott!
See how stupid you idiots sound. Schwartz showed he is willing to do the leg work himself instead of dumping it off on assistant coaches like oh say the Vikings.

So you need to be able to read to play football? Really? So, what has he been doing for the past several years in SD? Our HC is dyslexic and we did pretty well…

Stupid move by the Jets. Regardless of his age, he’s been durable and the players love him and are quite pissed about this situation. The guy had 1400 yards and 14 TDs last year. I’m psyched about Greene but nobody knows if he can handle a full season yet. He was hurt 3 different times and had a fumbling problem last year. Plus nobody knows if Leon will be back and/or 100%. They need the veteran presence and better hope they can get him to re-sign.
