Super Bowl champs?? LOL That pathetic excuse for a defense (you know...Defenseless Bowl vs. the Cards) will never see a SB more or less a division title....
______________________________
Its tough to play defense when your offense turns the ball over two times on the first two plays in FG range for them, spotting the cards 17 points is a little deflating but no teams EVER have bad games everyones the 72 dolphins out there.
Packers needed Clifton, due to the signings, I had figured they would bring back Tausch or Clifton. They will draft a OT with the 1st or 2nd pick and probably secondary with the other. TT knows what he is doing believe it or not
=================================
Uh, uh, no way.........
You turds do not get to use the turnover excuse!
You didn't let the Vikes use it. The Saints CAUSED those turnovers! Well, so did the Cardnails!
Just another Packer turd hypocrite.
TT knows about as much about personell moves as you do posting...not much.

Dude Jared Allen is one of the most overrated players in the league right now. He is dominant when he is going up against a bad LT but when he goes up against a better one, he gets completly shut down. It is kind of obvious when half of his sacks this past season came against two backup LTs.

It's either re-sign Clifton or trust the most important position on your line to a rookie. I think I would take Clifton especially considering that there isn't anyone currently there that has shown the ability to step into that position and take it over.
I would still expect them to address left tackle in the draft so that they can get someone in for depth and hopefully groom to take over eventually.
Hopefully they re-sign Taucher as well. The O-Line really was solidified when Cliffy and Tauch were both on the field last year.

Dude Clifton has owned Jared Allen in the past so don't expect to think Allen will own him.
Speaking of owning, how about Bryant McKinnie now having to go against Julius Peppers twice every year now? You know how he did against him when the Vikings played the Panthers last season . He got absolutely burnt by him. Now he has the pleasure of reliving that again.

So Clifton won the stare-down with TT by pulling the "Redskins visit" card, big deal. Outsmarting TT is about as hard as taking a crap the morning after eating fried cheese curds.
If Clifton stays healthy, given the going rate for starting LTs, $7.5M guaranteed is a fair price. However, we all know he won't stay healthy. TT will probably look to the 3rd or 4th round for another average young LT to add to the present group of average O-linemen. Looks like TT's lack of planning on the O-line will force Rodgers to pay the price for yet another season. He'll apparently get to know the names Allen, Peppers and Vanden Bosch pretty well next season.

Guarantee $8 mil for Clifton who is a shell of who he once was, but don't pay Wahle back in 2005 when TT blew up the line which directly led to the 4-12 season. Wahle went ahead and had a pro bowl season post Packers. I doubt Clifton gets there.
Ted Thompson, no rhyme or reason. Just idiocy
---------------------------------
Once again no pretzel of logic is too bent for our man on a mission to get Ted. What ever happened to you FoF? Are you TT's son that he never acknowledged? Did he not leave you a tip when you served his Pizzaburger at Kroll's? Were you two cellmates and...well, you get the picture.
One thing is for sure, you know nothing about pro football. You are comparing guards, and what they are valued at, with a left tackle! Did you know Jerry Kramer isn't in the HOF? Because he's a guard.
A while back you posted a link to a Cliff Christl article to show how TT payed big bucks to Ari Fleischer to smear Farve. When I read the article it clearly stated that TT did not hire Ari, the executive committee did. Christl (a long time Packer commentator who has over a number of decades failed to distinguish himself in any way) went on to say the involvment of the EC historically was a bad thing for team decision making. Of all the meatballs that post here, you're the only one I've ever seen post a link to an article that contradicted his point. Who do you think you are, Karl Rove?
Perhaps it was the old gunslinger himself offered the best advice for someone like you to take as a new direction in life.......why don't you take two weeks off then quit.

Holy crap, I did not realize PFT let "No Talent Ass Clowns" post on this site. How are the packers "lucky there will not be a salary cap for a few years" for giving a guy a 3 year deal with only 7.5 mil locked up in year one?
The packers had 5 mil on the table the whole time and when the Redskins came calling, Clifton let the packers match. This is really a 1 year deal for 7.5 with a team option for year 2 and 3. Consider Clifton was the best LT on the market and the packers had no one else as a must start, I heardly think TT "blinked"
Devil, You are a complete idiot who does not understand how contracts work much less the salary cap. Stay down in your mom's basement until you figure out how to crunch those big numbers with your TI-85. Your post make me laugh and cry at the same time.

If Clifton had left, Aaron Rodgers should then have learned to throw left-handed so he could watch Peppers and Jared Allen come storming at him before they crushed him.
Anyone who thinks this is a silly deal is silly themselves. It's really a one-year 7+mill deal guaranteed, and if they draft a tackle, they can put his replacement in next year, if there is a next year.

Clifton profits from the uncapped year.
He makes about what he was making under his old contract.
This is a one year contract that can be expanded to 3. It is a stopgap measure until the long term solution is found.
Obviously there are several ignorant and foolish uninformed people commenting on things they know nothing about.
As usual many are jealous of the great and wonderful Green Bay Packers and they make very foolish statements.
High revenue teams like the Packers have lots of money for the uncapped era.

The more a guy really thinks about it, the more he comes to the conclusion that TT appears to have no clue about what he's doing.
But, to his credit, he did at least sign a guy that is pretty solid in pass protection. The thing that bothers me, though, is the fact that TT's placed himself into this position by nickel-n-diming the O-line for the last several years.
But, TT will remain a god to the Packers' faithful because no matter what he does or doesn't do, he never loses. If he lets somebody walk, well, they obviously weren't worth it. If he panics and bets the farm - because the positions he placed himself into, then he's made the most of a "bad" situation. It's classic insanity.

*Cue laugh track here*
The hilarious "comedy of errors" that is Ted Thompson's tenure continues. This is truly a gem. On a day that sees the Bears secure the NFC North's only true Pro Bowl DE, we resign Gappy. The "Buddy Club" management system continues.
Ted, you're an idiot.
Mike, you are too.

hey fan of football, the packers let wahle and marco rivera go which were both good moves, they were old and not worth the money. rivera was done his first season post-pack and wahle was done in 2 seasons.
______________
Umm, Rivera played 2 more years, and Wahle 4, including a Pro Bowl season. Freak injuries derailed both of their careers early. It's hard to say if those injuries happen if they are somewhere else, but they both clearly had a lot left in the tank when released.

Oh, and Percy Harvin....how did the ol' silver fox, gunslinging hillbilly Favre work out for you guys this year? Oh yeah that's right....the Vikings won as many Superbowls as the Packers did this year.....even when the entire season was gift wrapped for the bumpkin from Mississippi.
Why do you even ponder passing?

wow, TT screwed this one up. The packers are lucky there will not be a salary cap for a few years.
TT lost this one clearly, he blinked and cost the team $5M, plus the $5M he gave to Ari Fleisher. the mistakes of his ways are beginning to add up.
And now the spin machine starts to make sure the sloth of packer fans agree that this was a GREAT MOVE
BTW, in my opinion Tausch and Clifton have been the most consistent tackle combos in the league - but face the music Puker fans - they are OLD and BEAT (just like your women)
