Dansby deal finalized

More than 30 hours after Karlos Dansby landed in Miami, a contract for the linebacker has been finalized with the Dolphins.

The parameters were agreed to Friday night, but the deal was complex enough to take until Saturday afternoon to finish.  Dansby is on the way to the Dolphins facility as we type, according to Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald.

Dansby spoke Saturday about his excitement to join the Dolphins, especially because 40 Dolphins were working out when he arrived Friday.

He also confirmed he would play inside linebacker.  He’s versatile and there was some thought he could play outside, but Dansby expects to team with Channing Crowder inside in Miami’s 3-4 defense.

good move but we need to sign ryan clark to improve our defense and im still not sure who we will take with the 12th pick and if we dont pick up a reciever in free agency which there are none the we will probably draft dez bryant

Good luck, chumps. Dansby is GROSSLY overrated. He’s an average LB at best, and he completely disappears for full games at a time. Go check his career stats – how many pro bowls has he made? Same number as Martha Stewart. Check his sacks, INTs, check everything. The numbers are underwhelming to say the least. He’s a legend in his own mind, and all he’s talked about for the last 2 years is getting paid. Now he’s paid, and he’ll probably disappear even more often.

Ha! There is NO chance the Dolphins draft Weatherspoon at 12th overall. He is a borderline Top-20 pick and isn’t a good enough pass rusher to play OLB on a 3-4 defense. He’s a 4-3 OLB who is better suited for sideline-to-sideline play. If the Phins go the OLB route, Jason Paul-Pierre or Sergio Kindle (still a reach at 12) would make way more sense. My money’s on JPP.
