Any team getting AK gets their money’s worth. Wish Ccapers would tweak the defense and jusat keep AK’s hands on the ground & let him go to town. TT better get real lucky in this years draft.

He was indeed awful as a 3-4 linebacker. He obviously was not the athlete everybody proclaimed. Couldn’t cover and didn’t offer much in the way of a pass rush either. Very stiff. A fish out of water as a linebacker.

He had what, 28 QB hits in the 3-4 in 8 games? That’s not a bust. He was really starting to come around the last couple of games. Capers was just figuring out to use him and comfortable enough mixing things up so Kampmann could start putting his hand on the ground.
I agree with the others. Too soon to call him a bust in that role.

Calling the guy a bust is pretty lazy writing Florio. He was at rush DR asked to play OLB in a 3-4. He was a company man, kept quiet and is know finding a better fit for his skill set.

I love assholes who like to apply the bust label when someone doesn’t figure something out from minute one. He played in the 3-4 for half a season before he got injured. After the injury, he stated the scheme was finally starting to make sense to him, that he was finally starting to figure it out. To label him a bust is way too premature.

The 3-4 started gelling about 8 weeks into the season or so. Capers started using Kampman more succesfully and then the ACL tear didn’t allow us to see how well he could play the rest of the year. I would love for Kampman to stay, but if it doesn’t work out I wish him the best, he’s a class act.

He did recently have ACL surgery, so a huge/risk reward signing, but IF healthy would be a perfect fit for the Jags (4-3) ..IF he can accustomed to the heat of Jackonville/LA…too many IF’s,,,,

Calling him a bust in the 3-4 is a bit of an overreaction. He wasn’t as effective as he had been, but he still wasn’t awful.

Kampman would be an ideal signing for the Jags. He is still a good player and is the kind of high character veteran that could help with the development of a guy like Derrick Harvey.
