Marlin Jackson to visit Baltimore

Cornerback Marlin Jackson, a restricted free agent who wasn’t tendered by the Indianapolis Colts, has a visit scheduled with the Baltimore Ravens.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the visit is scheduled for Tuesday.

The Minnesota Vikings are also reportedly interested in Jackson, who started all 16 games in 2007 but has played in only 11 games since then because of injuries.

The Ravens are looking to add depth at cornerback, where they currently have Domonique Foxworth, Fabian Washington, Chris Carr and Lardarius Webb.

What about Tito Jackson? He needs a job too.

If he signs there, that might be the kick in the ass the Vikings need to sign at least one free agent. I think DT, corner, safety, OL, QB and RB can be covered in the draft, but signing at least one free agent would help narrow things down abit. I really like Gibril Wilson. I think he’s both affordable and productive. Compare his stats to those of Tyrell Johnson and Madieau Williams.
It’s no contest. Wilson has put up Antoine Winfield type stats.

Low risk. High reward. If this guy can return to form, he will fit perfectly with the Ravens hard hitting defense. This guy can lay it down. Good job again, OZ!…………right player……..right price….

he needs to visit Pittsburgh….close to his hometown and the Steelers could use him in the secondary

As a Ravens fan, I love his upside and the depth he could provide at the position but I’m not sure if he would be making the visit if he weren’t already going to be in town for the Ed Block Courage Awards. In other words, I’m not getting excited just yet because odds are, he isn’t recovered enough to pass a physical and won’t actually sign with anyone for quite a while….would be nice to land him though.

Couldn’t agree more mnmaverick, Minnesota needs to not sit around this offseason and think that the people we have at the position is adequate enough. I completely agree with the signing of Wilson, he can play SS or FS and signing Jackson could give Ced time to heal if he’s not back by the start of the season and he also hits like Winfield, I think these two guys should be a no-brainer signing, but we’ll see, they most likely will lose them both…
