Sorgi might have a new Manning

So with the Giants looking for a new backup quarterback for Eli Manning and the Colts deciding to no longer have Jim Sorgi hold a clipboard for Peyton Manning, an obvious connection has been made.

The Giants will be working out Sorgi on Monday. The report comes from Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger.

The Giants could still re-sign David Carr, but with Carr looking around the Giants need to be looking elsewhere, too.

Like the Colts, the Giants don’t actually need a backup; Eli Manning has appeared in 97 straight games since getting the starting job in 2004.
