In response to a report that cornerback Leigh Bodden has decided to re-sign with the New England Patriots, agent Alvin Keels says via Twitter that that report is “not true and premature at best.”
Keels also says that Bodden is evaluating his options.
The veteran cornerback recently visited the Texans, but he apparently left without signing a contract.

If they were smart they’d sign him with most of the money coming in the first 2 years. They need him, but they shouldn’t pay anywhere close to what Dunta Robinson got.
New England should take a run at Darren Sharper, he’s the veteran impact player they were missing on D. Probably won’t happen, but it would be a nice short term pickup.

No worries about the QB situation besides disgust. Ben will miss 1-2 games at most. Bodden on the other hand, would be a great fit for Pittsburgh actually. Usually Pittsburgh has high quality defenses and he would be able to start. I’d take him, he’s a total upgrade from William Gay.

There are so many vaginas that comment on this site.. Ryan Clark isn’t a punk.. Just because he lit up Wes Welker with a clean hit -for which he wasn’t fined- doesn’t mean he’s dirty.. I personally cannot stand Ben Roethlisberger, although I am glad he plays for the Steelers.. But to say he’s guilty of anything other than stupidity is premature at best.. Hines Ward simply plays football the way it was meant to be played.. And Matt Cooke isn’t a bad guy, though I think the hit on Savard was a cheap hit that he should be suspended a few games for.. But I doubt he was trying to hurt the guy.. If you have ever played any sport you would understand.. It happened in a split-second, which isn’t enough time to conciously decide to hurt someone

Matt Cook is no gentleman is an old time goon…it is well known. That sort of elbow to the side of the head is his specialty and it’s not how the game is played. However I am more pissed at the B’s just like about everyone else who’s a Bruins fan for not standing up for Savard.
Cook is lucky guys like Chapman, Sanderson, O’Reilly, etc. aren’t around.

Anyway Bodden is needed in NE. Is he a top 5 cover corner? No, but he is a solid one and is physical. They need help on the other end, but something tells me BB is going with his young guys drafted last year and will continue to rebuild through the draft this year. If that’s the case no SB this year or next.

Me, I draft Tim Tebow. The guy is bigger, stronger and smarter. And like him or not, he’s cleaner where image is concerned. If it’s me, Ben can go play for the Raiders. He’d fit in well out there.
Last year’s NE Defense points given up was 4th or 5th in the league, better than Pitt’s. NE made the playoffs, Pitts didn’t.
So, IF Bodden wanted to go to a higher calibre defensive team, NE would be a better fit.
