Bills find a tackle

The Bills have jumped off the sidelines this offseason with an odd move.

The team signed tackle Cornell Green to a three-year, $9 million contract, according to NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora.  Last with the Raiders, Green turns 34 this offseason.

Buffalo needs warm bodies on the offensive line, but Green didn’t seem like a player that was going to get much more than the veteran’s minimum.  Of course, he may have to start in Buffalo.

    Guess not.

$3million a year for Cornell Green!???
Unbelievable. Check the small print of the contract. If there’s a clause that pays a bonus for every false start, he could end up as the league’s highest paid player next year.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAAH.
    Welcome to hell, Bills fans.
Need a drive killing false start or holding penalty? Cornell’s your man!

Woo hooo! About time that dang Al Davis scholarship player is finally gone.
The Nation has been hoping for him to get cut for years. Now lets see what retread replaces him, but i guess it now makes sense why the Raiders gave Khalif Barnes another shot.
I just really hope the Raiders (Al Davis) give another a first round tackle another try. lol

Holy crap, talk about over paying.
Green would have been a decent backup for the Raiders but that’s about it.
This is the 2nd time in a couple of years that the Bills have taken an average at best O-lineman from the Raiders and overpaid big time.
    Langston Walker was the other.

What NFL player doesn’t suck in Oakland just because he’s in Oakland? I figure every athlete is just that much better when they leave the Raiders. Sorry for hating on the Raiders, I’m indifferent to their organization.

Thank you Bills for taking this guy off our hands.

I guess you didn’t follow the Langston Walker to the Bills move? How did that one work out? Yeah, he’s back with the Raiders playing at guard.
Langston is a better tackle than Green. You wanna guess how this one is going to turn out?

Bills mgmt sucks! Can’t wait until Ralph’s estate sells this team!

  20. No1billsfan says: Mar 9, 2010 8:08 AM

I’m starting to feel like I’d rather have Al Davis running the Bills then Ralph W. Jr.

  21. petemus38 says: Mar 9, 2010 1:09 PM

Cornell Green must have ties to Kansas City or Georgia Tech somehow !!!! What a joke. What do you expect from this bottom – feeder organization with a “poster boy for alzheimers” as an owner, a second-rate coach, and a nobody for a gm.
So realistically, can you see top-flight player/free agent wanting to come here with these bums running the show ??

  22. tango says: Mar 9, 2010 1:45 PM

Good luck Bills fans! He was beyond bad here in Oaktown ! Total and compete bust. Susprised dead Al did not re-sign him

  23. mattraider says: Mar 9, 2010 5:17 PM

If the Raiders had signed Cornell for a 9million deal Al would be getting kicked in the nuts by everybody. Best of luck with this Bills fans….
