Irish will invade more NFL stadiums

Notre Dame will soon be making a habit of playing games in NFL stadiums.

Already, a game has been lined up at Cowboys Stadium for 2012.  Now, via CFT, a 2011 game against Maryland has been moved to FedEx Field, home of the Redskins.  Also, and again via CFT, a 2012 game could be played at Soldier Field in Chicago.

In 2010, Notre Dame will play Army at Yankee Stadium.

Does this ensure Jimmy Clausen will be taken by the Redskins?

do you have to mention the most overrated college team on this a pro football site? it won’t be as much fun without fatboy and claussen to root against them but trust me I will be. they are already making excuses as to why they will suck next year. new coach and lack of talent which always cracks me up seeing as how fatboy had top recruiting classes while he was there. tell you what dame fans how about you release those all americans to go play at a school that sucks in football like IU and see how well they play.

This appears to be another desperate attempt in Notre Dame’s ongoing quest to remain relavant.

Don’t forget the New Meadowlands complex.

I love the Irish Mr. Florio.
But, right now I want you to break a shocking Ben Roethlisberger story. Something real juicy!
It is out there… Work your magic…. Find it.

go to hell all you ND naysayers. GUARANTEE they win a national title within the next three years. and they do it the right way. u dont hear any of their players getting arrested or beating women like Urbans Gators or Chip Kellys ducks. And they actually go to class and take REAL classes unlike Tressels buckeyes. So keep hating on Notre Dame – a program that does things the right way.

Sorry Dome haters but Notre Dame could lose every game the 3 seasons and they will still have their own TV network. Notre Dame fans are Legion and they remain loyal.

Amazing how people”badmouth” a school which manages to educate its athletes enough that they actually graduate.

  12. gbsparks says: Mar 8, 2010 8:12 PM

What Notre Dame needs is a solid, #1 hunchback in the backfield.

“do you have to mention the most overrated college team on this a pro football site?”
over rated? i’ve been an irish fan forever, and i don’t think anyone considers them to be good, at best.wrong choice of words.give them time and maybe they will rise again.you can’t be great every year….

Good for ND. I love to see the comments from the raging jealous state school and regional school fans who wish they could draw a crowd at an away NFL site. Ha ha….too funny.

Look what “doing it the right way” has done for Miami timmyb311.

Why is this a story? Is NBC forcing you to tell us this?

I gotta admit I hated ND for years but you have to respect the fact that these kids actually take classes and that ND can’t get some of the top recruits due to their lack of intelligence…..
If ND lowered their standards like Stanford did then they would achieve more immediate success but that would take away from the aura of the institution….

  19. UncleTuna says: Mar 8, 2010 11:41 PM

    aura of the institution?
you mean like the green hazy smell of a long-overdue dead corpse?
I find college football as been more competitive, more interesting since college recruits finally wised up, stayed near home, and found out that the NFL will find you wherever you decide to play…

  20. poorrichard says: Mar 8, 2010 11:45 PM

Notre Dame, playing before empty NFL seats everywhere…

  21. Kevin from Philly says: Mar 9, 2010 8:30 AM

Appropriate that ND will play in Jerryworld – both the Irish and the Cowboys are living off the glory of twenty years ago.
btw, gbsparks – that was the funniest comment I’ve seen here for a long time. Thanks.
