As far as this case goes, several law professor’s have stated it isn’t that big of deal or difficult for the league to abide by the Minnesota laws (it’s not as though rampant drug use can go unpunished) because it’s just a few procedural changes (such as letting the employee know within 3 days). Businesses all over the country employee people in multiple states and they all have to abide by each states employment laws. They didn’t notify the players because that would imply that they’re checking every damn supplement on the market and it would give the union another line of defense. “They didn’t tell us not to take supplement A. That’s why we took it.”
This whole “The NFL should’ve told the players it was spiked” argument is hogwash. The league is under no responsibility to inform the players or the union what they find in any drug/supplement testing. However, in contrast, the players ARE responsible for what’s found in their bodies. That part of it is black and white. There’s no question the Williamses broke the rules. There’s also no question the NFL did not break the rules by not telling the players what they found in StarCaps.
And as far as this is concerned:

If the NFL isn’t able to enforce its drug policies, aren’t they ruined? What good are policies you can’t enforce?
