Wait, wait, wait….why exactly is Seattle going to win the division? Because they signed Brandon Marshall? Oh wait, they haven’t and probably won’t.
Because they signed Kolb or McNabb? Oh wait, they haven’t and probably won’t.
This will be another two horse race between SF and AZ. Niners never have problems with AZ, but they sure seem to struggle outside of the division.
The Niners are a year away from being a legit contender.

Florio, you look like you need some sleep. Seahawk fans need to wake up though and smell the rebuilding. I hope you guys do get Marshall so he can be a little hoe in the locker room. TJ douchemenzadah will get jealous and boom goes the dynamite. Cardinal fans should get ready for a nice glass of disappointment. 49ers need to fix that secondary and offensive line before they can compete outside the division. Rams…..you got a long road ahead.
Nowathand…..you’re being an ass but you make a point about Florio bashing the division and we are constantly representing the NFC deep in the playoffs. So on that note you are right and PFT can suck it.

I am correcting where he is wrong because my site doesn’t get all his visitors.
I never said I was a football expert, I just think his prediction is misinformed when this division has won playoff games each of the last five years, representing the NFC in the Super Bowl more times than each of the other three.
Also, I wouldn’t judge how much free time someone has on the length of an essay. I use stats and other evidence to support my arguments, Mike throws grenades at teams and players he doesn’t like and when they disprove him, he often either calls them fluky or pretends he never said what he did.
I don’t mind when a 49ers fan says “the niners will roll through this division” because the expectation when you read comments is that this is fans making points and they don’t have to be well-supported or detailed. The 49ers perceived dominance is wrapped up very nicely in that statement, and it works for any fan who wants to say it and any team they want to say it about. But I expect Mike Florio to have put more research into this stuff since he is getting paid.
What I wrote is pretty salacious but I use hyperbole to get people discussing but, in your case, you didn’t disagree with any of my points. And you are right, no one is forcing me to come here.

Nowathand- I think you’re forgeting his last game against the Packers where he looked like a boy amongst men. The titans game? Did you watch that game? If you did you would know his performance was poor in that game, he had a chance to win it against a disgruntled titans defense and failed. Yes Alex Smith is much better than Leinart. Period.

Since you are so much smarter than Florio, and clearly a football expert, why not start your own site? You obvioulsy have the free time on your hand. So instead of writing a small essay criticizing someone’s site (but yet still choosing to visit it every day), put that all that knowledge/effort toward making your own.

RaiderhateR4Life, you are seriously going to base this on some games almost three seasons ago, the 2-2 start, the game against the Titans this year where he had no practice with the first team and would have won if not for a last second touchdown, one solid drive cold off the bench against the Super Bowl champs, and some garbage time picks cold off the bench.
I think Alex Smith would be better if he rolled out more but to call him better than Leinart is an unprovable assumption.

@ danlinker- Is Alex Smith any better than Leinart you ask? Hahaha by a landslide! That’s why us Niner fans thank Leinart for staying in school otherwise he would have gone number 1 to us instead of Smith. Smith may not be what Mike Nolan expected but he’s way better than Leinart ever will be. Even David Carr is better than Leinart.

Damn florio, first time I’ve viewed a PFT daily and I have to say I’m impressed. You deserve your own show on the NFLN IMO, you deliver what you have to say worlds better than most of the slackeys on NFLN and ESPN, and what you have to say isn’t a bunch of BS either. Nice job.

I think it’s funny to see the seahawk fans and especially the niner fans, as they predict their team will win the division.
Leinart hasn’t proved anything yet, but Alex Smith is any better? Please, best qb there is Shaun Hill and they won’t start him. Thank you for that.
And as for seattle Hasselbeck, washed up, beaten down, and Carroll will want to go with his own guy soon.
Cards 9-7 or 10-6 and win it again. That will really frost the non believers.

Wouldn’t “wide open” include all four teams including the St. Louis Rams?
Today, Florio told Dan Patrick that the key for that team is Jay Cutler, and he’s not sure they did anything to make the quarterback better.
Another gem regarding the NFC West: “The sad thing is one of those teams is going to the playoffs no matter how bad they are,” Florio said.
Basically, Mike Florio said information you could find anywhere on the internet, and that one of the top receiving backs and one of the top blocking tight ends might not have made Jay any better.
Also, he does realize that NFC West teams have won playoff games in each of the last five seasons. Oh, wait, this is the guy who criticizes anyone who take the Bible literally, then uses Scripture literally to support himself.
Mike says in this video that it was a surprising development that Antrel Rolle, Anquan Boldin and Karlos Dansby all left. Two of those players left to become the top-paid players of their respective positions, with undeserved contracts, especially for Rolle, that a negotiating Arizona rightfully didn’t match. Once Rolle was cut, everyone knew him and Dansby would outprice themselves for a Cardinals team that was going to lock up Dockett. The only thing surprising was how little they got for the NFL’s all-time leading receiver in yards per game, a three time Pro Bowl leading the league in YAC, yards after catch. If they were willing to offer him $8 million last year, was it him missing three of their 18 games that changed their mind?
Mike Florio, this criticism is for your own good. You’re not the only football analyst who needs to step down. Mark Shlereth, Cris Carter, Tim Hasselbeck, Darren Woodson, Marcellus Wiley, Mike Golic, Keith Olbermann, and Bill Cowher. Do more research!
