Stacy Andrews takes pay cut, stays in Philly

Tackle Stacy Andrews, the Eagles’ top free-agent prize in 2009, has opted to reduce his 2010 salary in order to stay with the team.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Eagles have agreed to pay Andrews’ $4.1 million bonus, and that he has agreed to drop his 2010 base salary from $2.95 million to $1.15 million.

Andrews reportedly didn’t want his bonus “messed with.”

A tackle in Cincinnati, Andrews was moved to guard in Philly, while his brother, Shawn, was moved from guard to tackle.

Last year, Stacy Andrews appeared in only 10 games, and he started only twice.

He was appropriately named, his brother needs to add an ‘a’ to the end of his name.

Good, Damn Busted ass player! The Eagles “O” Line (Last year) was just that…Filled with “O’s” because of this guy! He needs to play better next year to stay in Philly!

Like a bank robber getting caught, but getting to keep most of what he stole.

SO glad he left the Bengals. We are much better off without him.

Uh, looks like Stacey won that battle of wills!
The Gold Standard gets taken to the house by a journeyman who never plays. Much like Montae Reagor.

Great we pay this tinkerbell and his sister to do nothing. Atleast Shauna is making rap songs. Thanks for not trying to address any needs so far this offseason. Whats next bring back Sean Jones to compete with Quinton Demps. No clue what they are up to. I heard when they tried to reach the Andrews sister they were unable to, apperently they were on some rainbow cruise.

You want to see theft? How about this Joe Banner Special…

At least Stacey suited up a few times this year.

I hope Jeff Lurie can sleep at night, knowing that he continues to pay millions to a guy who hasn’t done a thing for the team, when so many people in Philadelphia are living in poverty. Both Andrews brothers should get out of town and run as fast as they can (which isn’t very fast) with the money that they stole from the Eagles.

lol the dude was what only year removed from his acl surgery and you guys expected him to play like an all pro this past year?

Holy crap!!! Tampa just took Reggie Brown! We take a cap hit but lose all that future base salary.
Wow! Can we trade them Elton Brand as well? Or Igoudala!!?!?!

Stacy and Shawn were money pissed away. These brothers robbed the Eagles blind. I’m so tired of this fat piece of crap coach and the Weasel Joe Banner. Fire Both, you can’t win with them. Making the playoffs isn’t winning. Super bowl is winning. Losing in the super bowl is the first loser. If Jeffrey “billionaire” lurie doesn’t want to spend some money, sell the damn team to someone like Mark Cuban.

How did they “rob” the Eagles. Did they put a gun to Joe Banner’s head?
Joe Banner is a dope. He managed got the best of Sheldon Brown, but his refusal to deal with T.O. on an extension ended any hope the Reid-McNabb era had of winning a Super Bowl.
Yet, he gives Montae Reagor, Reggie Brown, Kevin Curtis, and any number of clowns huge deals. And the jury is out in Jason Peters. He’s wasted tens of millions on trash.
And wait a few years, Celek and Herremans will be holding out just when we are on the way back to contender status.

Good news for the Sheagles, now they can keep that “best O-line in the league” together for another fine season!

Would you want your pay cut?

“lol the dude was what only year removed from his acl surgery and you guys expected him to play like an all pro this past year?”
No, I just expected him to get paid like one. Which he was. And he got benched by week 2.
