Kevin Williams testifies in StarCaps case

The StarCaps trial is moving more slowly than the metabolism of, well, someone who needs to take StarCaps.

On Tuesday, Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams testified.

According to the Associated Press, Williams said that he took StarCaps, a supposedly all-natural diuretic that had been spiked with a prescription diuretic, to “help me shed a couple extra pounds, for health reasons, keep the coach off my back.”

Williams also had a $400,000 bonus tied to his weight.

Williams said that his playing weight of 310 pounds will move to 315 pounds in the offseason, and that when he’s too heavy defensive line coach Karl Dunbar makes Williams “feel real bad.”

The 29-year-old Pro Bowler testified that he had decided not to tell his family about the four-game suspension when news of the banishment was reported in the media.  Friends asked if he was taking steroids.

Kevin Williams will be cross-examined by NFL lawyers on Wednesday.  Teammate Pat Williams presumably will take the stand after Kevin Williams’ testimony has ended.

Tice chewed out Stringer before he took to the weight loss supplements/steroids that led to his death.
It’s a dangerous anytime you are around 300 pounds or over. The NFL seems to demand that for lineman though, which is stupid.

    Viking Cheat
    Saints Cheat
NFC Championship Game had the two cheating teams playing each other.
Colts should be awarded the win due to the Saints having cheaters on there team

Williams actually claims that he took a steroid masking agent to cheat his employer out of $400,000 because he failed to watch what he ate in the offseason and wanted to cheat on his weight.
His team mate on the D line was caught taking steroids in 07 and his linebacking team mate Erin Henderson was kicked off the team this last season for taking steroids. Jared Allen on the D-line has been in the substance abuse program for multiple violations.
When there is all this steroid smoke in the vikings franchise there has to be a steroid using fire.
After Korey Stringer’s viking training death, I’m suprised these fat knuckleheads would trust the viking medical staff.
Glad to see these cheaters and rulebreakers are finally coming on trial. They deserve more than a 4 game suspension for the delaying tactics and trouble they have caused.

    K. Williams is about as sharp as a spoon. Anyone that’s heard the man speak knows that much.
Can’t tell with Fat Pat, I think he speaks Spanish.

  7. IAVikefan says: Mar 9, 2010 9:40 PM

Something tells me the $400,000 was a little more incentive to lose the weight than the coaches opinion, but i digress…

    Tampering w/ other teams QBs
    Stay classy Queens

He probably thought he could mask it, the Vikings had a couple extra Whizanators around so he thought he was bullet proof.
Did he testify why he just did man up in the first place? When your head coach wears a dress and your QB is a pussy, manning up would be something new around the vikings.

This will be one of the cross-exam’s answers.

Packer fans, how did that first round playoff exit feel combined with getting your asses handed to you twice by the far better (NFL-wise, morality wise, and geographic location-wise) Vikings?
Back to wilderness for you suckasses. Bob and jimmy, you guys might want to get your selves checked, insanity is a serious symptom of long term syphillis infection, and from the comments, it looks like Bob had it first.

funny you failed to mention he said he started taking the diuretic(which is written into his contract that he is BANNED from using diuretics) in 2007 after knee surgery …. CAN WE SAY BINGO …. for all who don’t know steroids also aid in QUICKER healing / recovery time …. they knew DAMN well thatstarcaps contained a masking agent to cover steroid use …. why would he all of a sudden start to take starcaps in 2007 after knee surgery and never before that …. didn’t coach “makes me feel bad” before that (wow… we have an intelligent one here) …. come on NFL , it’s your league , throw these two FAT FOOLS out of it

  16. blitzed says: Mar 9, 2010 11:14 PM

and isn’t there another Federal courthouse in another state …. we already know what the ruling will be from the HOMER court with the super HOMER judge …. a little conflict of interest I would say

  17. bdon521 says: Mar 9, 2010 11:48 PM

You guys can bitch about roids all you want but thats not what the trial is about. Its about states’ rights vs a CBA. Always gonna be haters…

  18. marty264 says: Mar 10, 2010 12:27 AM

Bumetanide was an undisclosed active ingredient in the over the counter weight loss supplement StarCaps. StarCaps was pulled off the market after the presence of the undisclosed ingredient was discovered by the Food and Drug Administration.
Star Caps was not on the NFL’s list of dietary supplements containing the banned diuretic.

  19. mnmaverick says: Mar 10, 2010 12:33 AM

Throw them out and you wind up throwing 80% of the league out. They keep re-setting rthe Arrest Meter on here.

  20. blitzed says: Mar 10, 2010 1:49 AM

funny how it’s about the states rights ONLY because of the suspensions of these two clowns …. approx 1,900 plus players abide by the rules in the CBA …. the two fat asses in MN and their teammates don’t …. sure a great way to completely destroy a league …. kick the Queenies out of YOUR league NFL …. they can start their own league and use their own set of rules in their new league…. Adios Queenies

  21. Beavis says: Mar 10, 2010 2:36 AM

Bingo. This kangaroo court is so slanted towards the players.
I wonder if Ziggy gave the judge box seats for the 2010 season
I know just the thing to cheer up Kevin Williams when coach Dunbar gets on him, he should listen to Prince:
    “Makes me feel real good.”

14 of 26 posts are Packer fans with hurt feelings as of the time of this comment. On a Vikings thread, having nothing to do with their team or our teams playing one another or Favre, during the off season. That is Packer nation. Though they’d never admit it they are OBSESSED with our team.
Out of curiosity, just to see if Vikings fans spam their threads the same pathetic way, I checked the last Packer post as of this time.
Zero out of 36 comments in the DeNiro thread were hateful jibberish towards Packers. Ironically, one of the posts was jimmysmith basically posting the same off topic redundant Vikings crap that he constantly posts here.
I would be embarrassed to be a Packer fan right now.
