Becht chooses to stick with the Cardinals

Finally, a player who had the ability to leave the Arizona Cardinals has chosen not to do so.

Tight end Anthony Becht, a former first-rounder who played college football at West Virginia and who conducted a youth football camp last summer less than two miles from where I’m sitting, has agreed to terms with the Cardinals on a one-year, $950,000 contract, according to a league source.

Becht visited the 49ers and the Raiders.

He was one of four first-round picks of the Jets in 2000, and he also has played for the Buccaneers and the Rams.

Last season, he appeared in 16 regular-season games for the Cardinals, starting 10. He appeared in the wild-ass wild-card win over the Packers, and he started in the division-round loss at New Orleans.
