King: L.T. "may" visit Philly and New Orleans

Our friend and NBC colleague Peter King reports via Twitter that free-agent running back LaDainian Tomlinson may (and he emphasizes the “may”) visit the Eagles and the Saints after visiting the Jets.

A source with knowledge of the situation told us earlier in the day that there’s a 90-percent chance Tomlinson will sign with either Minnesota or New York.

Tomlinson remains in Minnesota.  Typically in matters of this nature, it’s critical to close the deal before the player has a chance to go elsewhere.

Saints quarterback Drew Brees has lobbied his team to sign L.T.  The two men played together in San Diego.

LT used to visit Filthy once a year ask jaws and randle they remember.
Oh yeah your talking about the cowardly running back from SD no way he could play in the NFC east.
The Egals got rid of Westbrook who could take a hit they do not need this over the hill broken down fool.
Tomlinson will be doing kids birthday partys as darth vader soon

LT would be a much better option than Fargas for the Eagles.
Face it both RB’s would only get a 2 year deal with the Eagles so why not go with the guy who can catch too?

  3. BigEasy says: Mar 11, 2010 6:02 PM

Highly doubt he signs in New Orleans….would be nice but doubt it!

  4. mustbechris says: Mar 11, 2010 6:03 PM

highly doubt it. there’s a 0% chance he signs with the eagles.

There is a 90% chance he will sign with either Minnesota or New York? Ok…there is a 91% chance I might blink in the next 2 minutes. Seriously…wow man…

King King…you rumor spreading hair ape. LT is in Minny…a deal is being worked out … I just talked to Judd.

  10. robi_boy says: Mar 11, 2010 6:06 PM

again drew needs to worry about winning another superbowl and leave gm’ing to loomis and the nflpa to slackers who can’t play

  11. Percy Nugz says: Mar 11, 2010 6:06 PM

LT+ VIKINGS = SUPER BOWL HOMEBOY!!!!!

  12. Ross'sSweetMinus says: Mar 11, 2010 6:07 PM

Let Get this Straight.. The only LT was Lawrence Taylor period!

  13. se18a29 says: Mar 11, 2010 6:08 PM

    Minnesota will get him…

  14. jibfest says: Mar 11, 2010 6:12 PM

We don’t want or need L.T. in Philly. You see, the Eagles don’t run the ball so he had better be able to pick up blitzes.

  15. hayward giablommi says: Mar 11, 2010 6:12 PM

So what if Lawrence Taylor is visiting Philly and New Orleans? I don’t see him coming out of retirement.

  16. bluestree says: Mar 11, 2010 6:12 PM

This is way more interest than
a lot of people thought LT would get (me). Maybe he should play it out. One question; Where’s his agent? There hasn’t been any backstory on this. Could there be another dynamic here? Or is Peter King just helping LT get more money out of the Vikings.

  17. purpleguy says: Mar 11, 2010 6:21 PM

Let’s not get too caried away here, we’re talking about LT as a back-up RB wherever he plays.

  18. purpleguy says: Mar 11, 2010 6:22 PM

By the way, at about 5 or so he supposedly left the building with a Vikes jersey, but apparently no contract. Maybe Peterson signed one for him.

  19. Reginald says: Mar 11, 2010 6:32 PM

Eagles are denying this. Although he’d be a good fit in Philly. Eagles never run the ball, and he can’t run the ball.

  20. Pervy Harvin says: Mar 11, 2010 6:42 PM

L.T. is on to NewYork. Bye Bye. Should have known when you picked chicken over steak at Manny’s that you were strange.

  21. Now I'm Done - No, Really says: Mar 11, 2010 6:49 PM

what does this guy add to any team

  22. sand0 says: Mar 11, 2010 6:50 PM

There is interest from decent teams so LT has to be excited about that. Hopefully he finds a place where he will be happy and productive for a team excited to have him. Hopefully that team happens to be my beloved Vikings!
It just seems like such a natural fit. LT’s skill set would match the role that Chester used to fill. It just seems obvious that he could contribute here. With some of the other teams on the list there just seem to be more unknowns of how his role would fit.

No…but San Diego did go 4-0 against the NFC East this year lil blue….so cuddle up to your lil Eli doll and STFU.

L.T. should go to the Jaguars, MJD and LT would be sick

  25. stetai says: Mar 11, 2010 6:56 PM

I don’t see LT signing with NY or Philly. Minny is indoors, warmer, and in a better sitiation and expected to do less while still having opportunity to do a lot. I also don’t see anyone backing up the Brinks truck for him, so it’ll go to Minny because it makes the most sense for all involved.

  26. JimmyY says: Mar 11, 2010 6:58 PM

Minny is a perfect fit but he wants to get paid top dollar so maybe he’ll check out NY. One of the things he ripped SD about on his way out was attitude of the new players, i.e. Cromartie, so lets see if he ends up with the Jets as Cro’s teammate and then see what he has to say. Money talks, BS walks LT, if you are such an upstanding guy why would you want to be on the same team again with one of those guys you criticized on the way out? Oh, sorry, I apologize, you MUST not have meant Cro, no way right? Yeah, right.

  27. JoeyJoeJoeJr.Shabadoooo says: Mar 11, 2010 7:02 PM

As a viking fan, the only reason i want them to sign this guy is to brag that we have once again, nabbed an all time great nfl player that was dumped by his long standing team.

  28. WeaponX says: Mar 11, 2010 7:05 PM

    Bring back B West!

  29. Route36West says: Mar 11, 2010 7:07 PM

UnPossible………. There’s no way the Eagles cut 1 aging rb for another with less left in the tank.
When Brain Westbrook was on the field he was playing almost as good as he always did. LT hasnt looked close to what he did 3 years ago.

    Hail the flashlight king.
LT maybe just wants to see what else is going to be offered, hell, he might have told the vikes that he’d give them a call should the offers be close and give them a chance to beat it.

  32. Fire Ted says: Mar 11, 2010 7:55 PM

Okay, I will give you Favre as an “all-time great” but LT is not ‘that’ high on the all-time list….top twenty perhaps…not an all-time great.

Really? Where did that get them in the playoffs? Pllleeeaaaase tell me what that whiny QB and baby of a RB did in the playoffs. Tell me what that heartless team that plays in a worthless division does year in and year out besides choke.

  34. wydok says: Mar 11, 2010 9:25 PM

Why would the Eagles let go Westbrook and sign LT? I don’t get it.

  35. Floriosadouchebag says: Mar 11, 2010 9:48 PM

Resign Westbrook for a more reasonable contract.

  36. Mooch says: Mar 11, 2010 10:03 PM

No way LT comes here, or that we’d sign him. I like Fargas better for our offense. Plus, feed Weaver some carries as we did late last season. I love McCoy, the position is very solid.
I for one, do not want B West back – he has concussion issues and should retire. Anyone who read about Andre Waters should feel uneasy about throwing him back in. Plus, the NFL is going to make concussion-related injuries carry mandatory games off – so he may not be a dependable option.
And LT doesn’t have a serious knee injury, so I’m not sure he’s on the Eagles radar.
