Childress testifies in StarCaps case, denies leaking test results

Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress testified today in the lawsuit brought against the league by Vikings defensive tackles Kevin Williams and Pat Williams, saying he didn’t tell the media his players had tested positive for a banned substance contained in StarCaps.

That’s so anti-me,” Childress said when asked if he had leaked drug test results. “No, I have not.”

Childress said both players told him about the results before they were made public, a disclosure which he attributed to a culture of openness within the Vikings’ locker room.

“One of the cultural things we address with the men is just a culture of honesty,” Childress said.

Childress said he recalled the sadness on the face of Kevin Williams when they first discussed his positive test in August of 2008.

“He mentioned it to me and I could see at the time tremendous disappointment on his face,” Childress said. “We’ve prided ourselves on not letting anybody see our weakness or our troubles as a team.”

“We’ve prided ourselves on not letting anybody see our weakness or our troubles as a team.”
…I think he’s telling the truth. After all, he could have told his players that they couldn’t have twelve men on the field in the NFC Championship game and didn’t. Instead, he took one for the team and didn’t let anyone see the weakness or troubles!

    Vikings culture of honesty?
If you believe these steroid maskers they were cheating their employer and cheating on their contract.
Positive steroid tests for Ray Edwards and Erin Henderson.
Erasmus James fighting with co-workers in the locker room.
Koren Robinson’s high speed flight from police while trying to sneek in after curfew.
    Adrian Peterson stealing co-workers vehicles?
The Criminal Cruise and its cover up.
Mike Tice pledging not to Super Bowl tickets then scalping them.
The Whizzinator is part of the culture of honesty?
Fran Foley becoming Viking GM with a phoney resume.
Reggie Fowler, a man with no taxable income the prior year signs a purchase agreement then says he can’t affor the team.
Zygi Wilf claiming he will not move the team.
Who thinks the judge will believe that crap?
No wonder they do not want a jury trial.

Correct me if i am wrong, but didn’t both Williams take the product in question to lose weight quickly as they needed to be a certain weight according to their contract. Didn’t their contract also include language that they couldn’t use products like this to lose the weight. Why is nobody talking about this issue, they were trying to cheat to make their weight, so they can try to defend themselves all they want, they were still cheating.

You missed the funny part about the story.
With the coach under oath, Ginsberg had a final question, “Now that I have you in this position, who’s going to be your quarterback next year?”
That is pretty funny. I didn’t know you could just drop a joke on a dude with him under oath. Who say’s law isn’t fun?

poor babies, give the william sisters some warm milk in a bottle.

  6. purpleguy says: Mar 12, 2010 2:37 PM

The best question of the day was Ginsberg’s last question where he asked Chilly who the Vikes QB would be next year?

What’s a “fadded out” Packer shirt? Your attempt at putting together a complete sentence didn’t go so well, either. You “tryed”, but you couldn’t do it.

The real question is what was Brett Favre on? No way he has his best season ever without some assistance from Big Pharma.

  10. JimmySmith says: Mar 12, 2010 2:56 PM

I love having Childress talk about honesty. The reality is an entirely different story. Kinda like the one he told his team when Brent Favre held out of training camp and Childress told his team that they were moving on when he full well that Favre would be showing up.
Sort of like the stories he made up during Brent’s original retirement when the NFL had cell phone records of their phone calls and yet somehow ruled, No tampering. Well, Childress showed his true colors later on by losing to the Packers and then running off the field without shaking the other coach’s hand, a gesture of classlessness and cowardice.
I’m thrilled to know that the Vikings are stuck with this idiot for the next couple of years. In between 12 men in the huddle, lack of imagination in play calling to regularly throwing his players under the bus, this cross dressing fool is going to fail the Viking fans when it counts the most and we will be there to remind them when it happens.

Man it must suck to lose this kind of dysfunctional team / organization twice in one year…and we will be there to remind them when it happens.

I should really stop reading this crap. The more I read the dumber I feel. PFT should really adjust the inelegance filter to weed out some of your comments.

Definition of irony: cheesers crying in their Pabst about the honesty and intelligence of a Viking coach and organization, when that very coach and organization kicked their team’s ass twice, and was able to win a playoff game, not to mention the fact that their own GM was the inspiration behind the movie the 40 year old virgin, their coach lied about canning a maintenance guy, called the NFL like little girl to falsely alleged tampering to cover up their own ineptitude, and couldn’t figure out how to set up an offense and play calling to avoid giving up the most sacks in the NFL.

It’s funny Bob Nelson that the vikes are the only ones with issues. I think if you look at any team they have issues………You jackass.

And with ALL THAT HISTORY….The Packers still will NOT be able to crawl out from the Vikings shadow. Happened last season and will continue to happen for the foreseeable future.

I think Bob, JimmySmith, and jimicos suffer from something we will have to call Vikings Derangement Syndrome. The afflicted are typically frustrated losers who become enraged at the success of others and who focus their rage on one object in particular. In this case, it is the Vikings. Get some help.

I’m not even a vikings fan and i can’t believe the chit that this bob nelson and jimmy smith write……they should be writers for the National Enquirer or be wearing straight jackets……or both. I suspect they overdid it on their drug years and wonder why the rest of us have to wade thru their ridiculous posts.
