Report: Tomlinson hasn't made up his mind

Although all signs point to the Jets, we still don’t know for sure where LaDainian Tomlinson will end up.

And apparently that’s because Tomlinson doesn’t know either.

Not long after we passed along a report from Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune saying Tomlinson was poised to become a Jet, Acee tweeted that Tomlinson told him he hasn’t made up his mind yet.

So, officially, we don’t know where Tomlinson will play 2010. We just know everyone thinks it will be in New York.

Due diligence. I’m sure he’s already talked to Drew Brees about coming to the Saints, and he’s visiting with the Vikings and Jets to have an assessment of how they operate before he comes to visit here this week.

In other words he is waiting for the Vikes to sweeten the deal.

The Jets let Thomas Jones go, he’s better than Tomlinson. If this is a ploy to sell jerseys, just pick up TO, at least when he gets the ball he’s a spectacle. L.T. will at least bring a chip on his shoulder vs. the Pats.

So basically nobody noes not even LT! Still its gotta be the Jets haha

NY would be the smart choice. They’re a team on the rise. The Vikings have peaked. Too many of their players are well over the hill, and they will go into decline.

As a Vikes fan, I sure hope he chooses the Jets. We don’t need a whiny, washed up pile of crap that sulks and sits out playoff games. Other than that I think he’s great.

Mark “Dirty” Sanchez in 2010 =
Matt Cassel/Matt Ryan 2009 like production.

SD Union-Tribune: Tomlinson said today, in response to the report, that “he doesn’t know where he’s going”. Nothing’s official.

He was having a Margarita with Brett in Mississippi when he said that. ; )

LT will be a solid Jet if he signs. Even the explosive D. Sproles could not do much behind that crappy San Diego line….

  10. Scotsman says: Mar 14, 2010 3:46 PM

Well Shit people–Why report all this bullshit if you don’t have the facts. Anything for a story, right. When he has made up his mind, and has contacted his new team, then report the F’n story—————–The Scotsman!

Sucks for Minny, but it is understandable that LT would go to NY. The Vikings are better now, but may not be in 2 years. Bottomline… The Vikes give him the better chance to win a SB next year, but the Jets may give him a better chance over the life of his contract. Maybe MN should see if an extra million would change his mind, but I doubt it would.

I’d much rather see Rex and Tom fight for it.

    The last time he’ll be able to pick… savoring/Favre’ing it I guess…

  14. mike says: Mar 14, 2010 3:51 PM

Tomlinson just wants to get in good with favre by not making up his mind

He knows there’s no ring in NY this year, but he’s thinking about the next year, more money in NY, more carries and more highly featured..possibly a ring the following year if everything goes well.
So if he really just wants the ring he should choose the Vikes, get it, retire or go somewhere else the following year. I’m sure Vikings FO will put a buy out for both parties after the first year anyway.

    Vikings.

  19. stetai says: Mar 14, 2010 4:23 PM

Hopefully after teh first report came out, LT read my various posts around the internet about what a bad move that would be and is considering the Vikings after all.

  20. markwhct says: Mar 14, 2010 4:26 PM

He probably talked to Favre and Bret was “waffling” again. At least in New York you have the best O-line and best Defense as KNOWN entities.

Another great story from people who do not have a clue, you say everyone thinks it will be New York, but does not everyone include Tomlinson?

  23. TheBaySay says: Mar 14, 2010 4:48 PM

A player who can’t make up his mind has no place with the Minnesota Vi… uh, forget it.

The jets would be stupid to give L.T. a 2 year contract when they just let Thomas Jones walk, because he wanted a 2 year contract? At this point Jones is far more productive than L.T. but by all means N.Y. go ahead that’s better for my Patriots!!!!!!

  26. CanadianVikingFan says: Mar 14, 2010 5:36 PM

Sounds like some bullshit Adam Schefter would come up with.

  27. sportsd says: Mar 14, 2010 5:40 PM

someone better remind LT about the weather in NY/NE and Buffalo during the season. Remember him on the sidelines shivering?

  28. purpleguy says: Mar 14, 2010 5:49 PM

Pretty good BaySay. Maybe he conditioned his signing with the Jets upon Ryan’s agreeing to weight loss surgery (let’s hope he didn’t have the same surgeon as Charlie Weiss).

Interpretation: Nobody wants him at anything over the league minimum for veterans.

As a pure running back? not that much. I just think he could bring great receiving out of the backfield and most importantly…..knowledge. He may not have the physical tools anymore, but that doesn’t mean he could not tutor AP or Shonn Greene. I also think he can still produce as a spell/3rd down backfor a couple years.
