Chiefs checking out Lilja

The Kansas City Chiefs, still struggling to turn around a franchise that has of late been in shambles, are in the process of checking out whether another team’s trash might turn into treasure.

Per multiple reports, the Chiefs are hosting former Colts guard Ryan Lilja today.

Lilja, a five-year veteran, started every game in 2009 after missing all of 2008 due to injury, after starting every game in 2007.  He also started several games in 2006, including Super Bowl XLI.

If he stays healthy he does a good job. I wish Lilja the best.

How is that trash? That is an OL with some experience and playoff experience that became a casualty.
The Colts dont even need good offensive lineman. They just need 5 bums at league minimum to stand in front of Peyton Manning for about 3 seconds until he finds the open man. The minute their contract escalates they become expendable

It’s not hard to look at a guy who lives practically right down the street.if the chiefs want him it won’t be hard for them to get him and from what I’ve heard they do and if it’s going to happen then it will be announced by the end of the day wednesday

The Colts dump Lilja, and then sign a guard, Alleman, that the Chiefs chose not to re-sign. Based upon the way the two teams o-line’s have preformed, I’d go with the Colts assessment of the two.

I cannot imagine why the Steelers are not looking at Lilja. No matter what the Colts might think, he is miles ahead of anything they currently have in Pittsburgh.
