Jerry Jones' company sued in fraud case

A company owned by Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently was named as a defendant in a securities fraud lawsuit.  Specifically, Blue Star Oil and Gas is accused of aiding and abetting an alleged $15 million securities fraud currently under investigation by federal authorities, according to the Associated Press.

The suit seeks to recover $1.8 million that Jones’ company earned by doing business with James Gurgainers, who allegedly defrauded investors out of $12 million.  Jones’ company allegedly knew that Gurgainers was luring investors by touting his connection to Jones and promising returns that never were delivered.

Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple had no comment on the matter.  Though the case has no connection to the Cowboys, the fact that Jones owns both entities makes coverage of the situation fair game.

Jerry Jones had no part in the “fraud” you illiterate scumbags.
Also, I thought this was ProFOOTBALLTalk. This is not about football, and Jerry isn’t even named in the lawsuit. Could you possibly find anything more frivolous to put the Cowboys in bad light about? Florio, you must be akin to that bleeding heart Redskin Jason La Canfora on NFL Network.

Jones had no part and isnt named, but his company is named a defendant in the case? you are clueless.
Study this one: Its called guilt by association. He had his hand in the cookie jar among others who profitted from the crime.
And Florio’sLawyer, its only 1.5 mill. He didnt pay for the stadium with it, he used it for his 25th facelift and botox for his mug.

Shocker, Jerry Jones and his toupe are both scubags. Not shocking at all really, look at the product that he puts on the field. Nothing but classless pieces of garbage. The coach who is now paralyzed should also sue the piece of sh*t jones for putting him in danger in that poorly constructed bubble last year. I really hope that the whole organization goes under.

Not sure why Blue Star is involved, they’re the ones that wasted money on leasing mineral rights to a dry parcel. Investors got taken by the contractor that Blue Star hired to drill the wells. No oil or gas = no profits, dividends, etc. Still trying to figure out how Blue Star made a nickel on a deal like that.

Teammates aren’t responsible for what other players do. The owner of a company IS responsible for what HIS company does.

  27. Big Tex says: Mar 15, 2010 10:54 PM

Jones is NOT named as a defendant in the suit. The exploration manager for Blue Star is. I’ve never had to manage more than about 150 guys and it’s a chore to keep up with what that many. I would imagine that Jerry Jones has a substantially greater number to manage.
As to the practice facility collapse, I guess that’s what happens when you hire a Pennsylvania company.
And don’t worry DieHardSkinsFan21, just think, if the Skins win the next 18 games in a row against Dallas, they’ll be even. Those regular butt kickings don’t have anything to do with your hatred now, do they?

    Franchise:
Jerry was not named in the lawsuit. Just because he owns the company does mean he’s involved in fraud committed by one of its executives. And guilt by association does not apply to this case you fool.

I guess Jerry will need to sue his loyal fans for breaching contracts for suites so he can pay back the $1.8MM.
Wait, Snyder already did that. I don’t know how Jerry can get any lower than that.

  37. HamBurghlar says: Mar 16, 2010 9:33 AM

Jerry Jones is a piece of trash, along with whatever he touches. He also defrauds Cowboy “fans” because he has a ton of cash that he won’t spend on anyone good to get them into the playoffs. Keep on losin, ‘Boys!

  38. Kevin from Philly says: Mar 16, 2010 12:11 PM

“Ah. So all 0-3gles and Failcons players fight dogs? All Steelers rape women?” So all Cowboys fans are whiney idiots just because Vox is?
Ok, that last one happens to be true, but I see your point.

  39. Deb says: Mar 16, 2010 3:25 PM

I hate the Cowboys and can’t stomach their owner … but would be remiss not to point out that these are only allegations … a civil lawsuit is an attempt to get money, not a criminal charge … no charges have been filed against Jones … burden of proof in civil cases is low–a guilty verdict isn’t conclusive … he has many business interests and I doubt he takes an active interest in daily operation of each company let alone the activities of each executive or associate.
Disliking Jones is no reason to damn him as a crook without concrete evidence to support the allegation. Why don’t we wait until the federal investigation has concluded, the civil case has been presented, and we have some idea what, if anything, he’s done?
But I know, fair-mindedness despite team allegiance is not a popular concept on PFT.

Look at the little loser, spinning has hard as he can. Cowboys story, Julio. Nothing about the Eagles here. But of course, when Jerry Jones cheaps out and disables his employees through shoddy construction of a facility? “McNabb Can’t throw!” Jerry Jones prices out real fans in his audacious palace of ego? “Vick killed dogs!” Jerry Jones is discovered to be in bed with con artists and scumbags (beyond Irvin)? “McNabb didn’t know about the tie!”
You are a sad, silly little man.

Congratulaions Brokeback Nation! This is exactly how he rustled up the cash to finance that stadium. Let’s hear some more about how the Cockboys are being smart about this uncapped year and how Jerry doesn’t “want” to invest in a soccer team because he doesn’t see the value in it. Here’s a stunner, how about he’s BROKE.

  42. Big Tex says: Mar 16, 2010 5:54 PM

    @Whiterhino
The construction problems were the fault of the Pennsylvania company that built it. That’s why they (the construction company) are the one’s being sued in the practice facility collapse.
